    not to sound like a david hayter traditionalist but i always found kiefer's line delivery fairly flat and had no emotion in it, not sure if that was intentional or not for venom snake but i just never felt as invested as i did with david hayter's voice acting

    Don't get me wrong I'll buy anything mgs related that comes out but I feel like metal gear 1 and 2 remakes should be the only priority here.

    I often see threads about wanting mgs 1 and mgs 2 remakes and I'm wondering why? We already know what happens in those games and have extensive knowledge about the story of those games. Hell Metal Gear Solid 3's graphics still hold on to todays standards.

    I wanna know about about rookie solid snakes evolution. How he utilized cqc before being betrayed by big boss. I wanna see him fight and win against the best soldier of the 20th century and his phantom. I wanna see zanzibar land and outer heaven with todays graphics. I want to know how big boss managed to infiltrate himself back to the US and how he became the leader of fox hound

    We know these things happened but they have stayed as lores. I wanna explore these things I want an awesone cqc battle between Solid Snake and Big Boss.

    Anything else should be an after thought

    For everything venom went through he truly got what he wanted: Dying with Outer Heaven, he devoted to soldiers, cared a lot about and even treated them as a family, and knowing that Outer Heaven was going to self destruct, he stayed so that he can kill Solid snake instead of leaving and doing something else

    I believe he was cracked out of his mind by the events MG1 but still with Mgsv being the final piece to the puzzle, deep down inside him, he wanted to die with Outer Heaven, the highest honor he bestow on himself, he was dedicated to the idea of Outer Heaven, to The Boss and himself and so he was rewarded that by solid snake killing him and a mushroom cloud as a final send off

    Naked Snake died at least realizing what he did wrong and reconciled with Soild and died besides The Boss

    Solid was free from control for the first time in over 42 years and he probably lived out the rest in Alaska but I don't believe he lived free from nightmares and ptsd he had developed

    Peace Walker: playing it on ps3 or emulated on PC with PPSSPP?

    Title: I've got access to both (I bought an used PS3 just to get into MGS) and I'm about to finish MGS3 (Yes! I know I should play MGS4 first). I was thinking that, playing Peace Walker on PS3 would have its cons (mainly the controls), but emulating it on PC would mean 1080p/60fps. Which do you suggest?

    As much as art is subjective, people seem to really misunderstand the Colonel AI's speech to Raiden near the end of MGS2

    A lot of people seem to laud this speech for "predicting the current state of the internet" or for being a critique of political correctness, or a criticism of online echo chambers/triviality of information. These interpretations seem to ignore the overarching points of the speech. The argument is designed to sound convincing because it mimics (and to an extent, predicts) the talking points and justification surrounding ideologies which seek to reduce the human to a cog in a machine.

    Let's summarise the colonel's argument:

    >"junk data" reduces "social progress" and "evolution"

    >digital society "furthers human flaws" and creates fake news and half truths

    >The injustices seen in society are problems that arise from individualism and human free will (keep in mind that these issues are blamed on the individual through Raiden instead of the Oligarchs that control the way society is ran- the White House consciousness that the A.I emerged from)

    >opposition of beliefs leads to echo chambers because the majority of the population do not succeed in imposing their power/opinion and it is clear they cannot, hence Social Darwinism (keep in mind the antagonization of political correctness here)

    >the "sea of garbage" of information is to be waded through by the AI, have the truth extracted, and to be interpreted in the way it wishes

    "unnecessary information and memory must be filtered out to stimulate the evolution of the species" - how is it not completely clear at this line that you are meant to dislike this A.I? God... it is literally expressing belief in social Darwinism, which all of our collective philosophy and ethical development over the past few centuries has done its best to move past.

    >truth in every sense of the word is absolutist and independent from emotion, thus the human sense of self only hinders truth. It is up to the AI to separate emotion from reality and raise humanity in this cold, heartless image.

    Now, let's really condense the argument down with language that should make a bit more sense.

    opinions, art, and emotion, or "trivial information" prevent Social Darwinism. These things are part of your free will, and you, as the human individual, are responsible for society's problems because of the exercising of this free will, and are being blamed by the heartless Oligarchy for the problems they create. This means you should not have free will. Your emotions should be separate from reason, your

    and you should become a cog in the machine of the Oligarchy's (A.I's) image, your empathy, your art and your free thought separate from you because of the conflict free thought creates. The controlling force in this ideology is asking you to throw your humanity away because it sees humanity as disposable, and Social Darwinism as the greater purpose.

    This is literally the anti-intellectualist and anti-empathy reasoning in modern day realpolitik.

    Keep in mind that both the game and Kojima do not want you to see this as the good guy. If we strip this argument down to its bare bones, its using talking points and buzzwords to try to convince you that humanity doesn't deserve free will and you should all be cogs in an inhumane machine simply because your sense of self is futile, and you as the individual are to blame for the problems of an Oligarchic society. This is quite literally how neo-Fascistic arguments are laid out, almost word-for-word, and Kojima very likely wrote this speech with this intent knowing his politics. Remember, the A.I. is the game's bad guy. It's actually really scary to see how many people are agreeing with the Colonel A.I's speech because it just shows how susceptible to propaganda and anti-intellectualist sentiment people are capable of being.
