[OC] First in a series of Metal Gear Solid Posters I am making, is it pretty good?

    Posted: 16 Jun 2020 01:02 PM PDT

I purchased MGSV a year ago and wanted more. So I’ve pieced together this set up after following this sub for awhile. I’m excited to start at the beginning!

TIL The Boss is the only main villain in the MGS series directly killed by the main protagonist

    Posted: 16 Jun 2020 02:53 PM PDT

In the spinoffs, and MG1, the main protagonists almost always kill the main villain directly. But when it comes to MGS, the one and only time that happens is with Boss Lady:

    • Liquid (killed by FoxDie)

    • Solidus (reduced to a braindead husk by Raiden but ultimately burned by Vamp)

    • Volgin (struck by lightning supposedly caused by Sorrow, and kills over when he finds out about Kiefersnake 20 years later and dies from embarrassment)

    • Ocelot (killed by FoxDie)

    • Biggie (killed by FoxDie)

    • Cold Hot Pants (shot to death by Zadornob)

    • Paz (vagina bombed by Skullster)

    • Skullster (crushed by Sally, got his arm and leg blown off by Kiefersnake and McFiddler, but ultimately finished off by worst man in the world)

Boss Lady is the one and only villain finished off by the player. Technically, Gene was too, but MPO is largely ignored by MGS because Kojimbo can be a bit of a prick.

And in contrast, in the spinoff games, the main villain is always killed by the hero:

    • Robo-Biggie (killed by Snake)

    • Viper (killed by Snake)

    • Flemming (killed by Teliko, who is one of the two playable characters of MGA1 so she counts)

    • Lucy (killed by Snake and Venus)

    • Gene (killed by Biggie)

    • Sam (killed by Raiden)

    • Armstrong Meme Man (killed by Raiden)

    • Seth (killed by Captain Dicklips, my codename for the Captain)

So yeah, just a thing I noticed and thought I'd share because this delivery is taking forever to finish.

Honest show of hands, how many of you cried when

In MGS 2 when the "Hal i miss you" scene happened. I remember crying so hard. I tried explaining to my ex girl once how emotional the moment was and she laughed at me because she thought the parrot was funny.

A Problem with A Quiet Exit (yes, another one)

    Posted: 16 Jun 2020 05:02 PM PDT

I started mission 45 an hour ago and just beat the tank part. I skipped the cutscene (it is my second playthrough). Right after the game loaded, Snake started the animation that plays when he carries someone, except he wasn't carrying anyone. I looked around and even tried using sonar but Quiet wasn't there. Is there a way to fix that without restarting the mission? (Playing in PS4)

MGSV Helicopter Loadout: Should it be minimal unless planned strike?

    Posted: 16 Jun 2020 04:10 PM PDT

As posed above, to keep dispatch costs down, should you unequip everything but speed unless there's a planned air strike? Any benefit to keeping armor or guns up?

    Thanks in advance!

    Mgs2 alerts question

    Posted: 16 Jun 2020 03:36 PM PDT

If emma gets spotted, do I need to reload for the achievement? She was spotted once and died, which gave the game over screen and showed I'd gone up from 0 to 1 alert. Playing on tanker-plant

Something that's always bugged me, even though I know it's nothing

    Posted: 16 Jun 2020 01:19 PM PDT

Having played MGS2 religiously as a kid something always bugged me about when you meet Stillman.

During the conversation when Snake and Raiden are at the table and he is explaining the C4 and how they work and locations. During which he says

"now check the floor, ceiling walls, under a table, everywhere"

I've always found it weird that he says under A table. Where is this mysterious table?

Obviously nothing, just always bugged me
