    Mgs3 achievement help

    Posted: 15 Jun 2020 04:33 PM PDT

So I'm trying to go through the game without killing anyone, if I cqc grab an enemy and they get shot and killed by another enemy does that count against me. Same thing for the section with Eva, if she kills does that ruin it

MGS4 was spoiled for me, should I continue?

    Posted: 15 Jun 2020 04:25 PM PDT

I haven't played mgs1, 2 or 4, I have only played mgs3, ground zeroes, and mgsV. I love this series but I got spoiled that Zero was the Mastermind of the series the entire time. Is MGS4 even worth playing if you know that twist?

I like how it's said in MGRR that Gray Fox's sword is haunted by his spirit.

Should the next Metal Gear game start a whole new timeline/canon?

    Posted: 15 Jun 2020 12:36 PM PDT

I think if other series like Tomb Raider can do it, then MGS might be able to do it.

Moreover: I'm not sure that anyone should mess with Kojima's canon whether it be with a remake or with a new game. It might cause some canon issues with Kojima not being the writer.

Thoughts? There is a question as to whether a new canon will be as good as Kojima's, but only time will tell.

Is it possible for Raikov to be Raiden's Grandfather?

    Posted: 15 Jun 2020 08:40 AM PDT

I know it sounds stupid, and not every character has to be connected, but they look similar and sound similar.

Let's take a look, Raikov was at least 25 years old during 1964, he probably had someone pregnant either before or after Operation Snake Eater.

Raiden was born in 1983, this gives us 19 years between his birth and 1964.

So it is possible that his father was at least 20 years when he had Jack, then killed by George later in the late 80's.

We know that Raiden was born in Liberia, but his parents weren't, they migrated there.

So there you have it, Raiden can pretty much have Russian heritage.

Does Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake Eater have more cutscenes than gameplay the whole way through?

    Posted: 15 Jun 2020 12:18 PM PDT

I got the Metal Gear Hd Collection for PSVITA and started Snake Eater. (Keep in mind I had never seen or played Metal Gear Solid before now, I had only ever heard of the series here and there.) It started off okay. The intro cutscene got me interested (good sign). Started up the tutorial, fought with the controls for awhile, then finally managed to find Sokolov. Watched the following cutscene, then kept watching the cutscene, then...kept watching the cutscene, then got to the introduction to first aid, then......watched another cutscene, then watched more cutscenes, then watched even more cutscenes..etc etc you get the point.

Now I will say that this game has possibly the most bearable cutscenes I've seen in a game because you can actually interact with them, (zooming in, choosing to look through binoculars, things like that) and it's something I wish games did nowdays. But the fact that I just sat through a, what, 20-30 minute cutscene is just...why? Why couldn't you have some of the interactions be in-game? Let me wander around an area while talking to someone, SOMETHING.

I mean I get that intros are usually the longest cutscenes in games but holy hell, I stopped caring about the story and just wanted to play the game by the last 5 minutes or so.

I probably will still keep playing even if there are lots of cutscenes, as I don't like to draw final conclusions until I finish a game, but I think I would like a heads up on what to expect throughout the game (preferably without spoilers if possible, as it is an interesting story so far).
