- I was finally able to get one of my dream items last week.
- Can't believe I pulled this off... It's literally the 3rd pilot I've ever painted. Pencil top eraser for scale.
- My collection of MG games
- The strangest metal gear ports : MGS2, MGS3 and MGRR on the Nvidia Shield
- I made a little sketch of snake. It looks better in person tho
- Metal Gear Solid 3 Pachinko Trailer 4k (Remastered with Neural Network AI)
- What is the most polarizing MGS game? 2, 4, or 5?
- Finally, I was able to hang my favorite poster on the wall. I really love this classical MGS.
- Thoughts on Twin Snakes
- My local Thinkgeek had a lil table for coloring for Pokemon Day.
- The legendary heroes through generations!
- Weird cyborg head found in Metal Gear Survive's files, it doesn't have any textures, it still look cool though.
- Wouldn't it be great if MGSV had a mission editor.
- Mgrr
- Dunno if this has been asked before, but...
- Which Snake is the best and why?
- Solid Snake 8 bit (OC)

What is the most polarizing MGS game? 2, 4, or 5? Posted: 27 Feb 2020 02:34 PM PST 2 was controversial at release because, well, obvious reasons, but time has been (very) kind to it. 4 and 5 both seem to be the opposite, with universal acclaim on release, but souring over time. What do you think is the most 'controversial' or polarizing out of all of these (i think its MGS4 but i saw a post saying 5 was even more controversial, which got me thinking) [link] [comments]

Posted: 27 Feb 2020 09:48 AM PST So I finished Twin Snakes for the first time last night. I just thought I'd share my thoughts on it. I played it in Hard mode with no radar. I have played MGS1 many times over the years, last year completing my first Extreme playthrough in Integral with alternate guard routes. First to discuss the two most common complaints about the game. I agree with what has often been said that MGS2's FPV mechanics would completely break the game, but the impact of that was diminished somewhat for me as I did a non-lethal playthrough, which meant that I had to conserve ammo. What I found to have much more of an impact was MGS2's AI in MGS1 areas. Some of them are very small or open, and clearly weren't designed for it. The camera was also unchanged from MGS1, whereas MGS2's camera is designed around the new AI. It took me a lot of tries to get past the Dock at the start for this reason (also because the patrol routes have changed from MGS1, which I don't have a problem with). Some changes like the addition of guards in the area where you fight the tank were good going from the tank hangar to the nuclear warhead storage building, but awful going the other way due to the camera. The cutscenes were definitely over-the-top, though I was expecting it. Many have mentioned the part where Snake jumps off a missile. Personally I thought the most ridiculous part was when Snake dodges bullets at point blank range at the end of the final chase. Probably the biggest problem with the changes is that is creates a disconnect between the gameplay and the cutscenes, since you can't do any of that stuff in the game itself. Still, it was fun to watch with the fan idea that the game is Otacon relating it to his friends in a bar in mind. It was also nice to properly see the resemblance between Solid and Liquid Snake, which I feel was lacking somewhat in MGS1 due to the low-resolution textures. There were also a few changes that I liked. I never really liked how Snake was caught after the first Wolf fight, with guards just running up to him after the camera. In TTS they rappel down, giving the impression that it was a trap to begin with, and taking Snake by surprise in a more realistic way (for someone of Snake's abilities). I also like how Snake hides behind a tree to talk to Otacon before the second Wolf fight, instead of just staying in the open where she can kill him at any time. Snake taking a tank missile to the chest and surviving, on the other hand, probably should have played out like it did in MGS1, where he dodges it. Some bosses were better than MGS1, some were worse. I loved fighting Sniper Wolf with decent sniping controls, and REX was also much smoother, if a little bit easy. I always felt that it took too long to lock-on in the REX fight in MGS1. Psycho Mantis was broken. I don't know if it was deliberate, but auto-aim doesn't work in it, which makes it way harder than it should be. FPV takes too long to aim. It's also much harder to see his attacks with thermal goggles equipped than it was in MGS1. The first boss fight after you meet Meryl wasn't as good as MGS1 either, as they now wear armour. This was probably an attempt to emphasize FPV shooting in the game, but it doesn't really work properly, as there are too many soldiers to take out that way. The chase up the stairs is much harder to do non-lethally. Stun grenade's range is tiny in comparison to MGS1, so the guards are much harder to defeat. It also takes longer to throw them. I enjoyed being able to defeat guards and bosses non-lethally though, for once Liquid's "You enjoy the killing!" speech didn't make any sense. There were also a few areas that lacked Kojima's polish. A good example is the armoury. When you revisit it later, there's a guard looking right at the hall outside the lift. In a no-radar playthrough you're going to get caught unless you know he's there. Even the AP sensor doesn't help because there's another guard that walks past the lift just as you arrive. It's hard to imagine this scenario existing in a game developed by Kojima. Overall I thought it was a very interesting game. It was nice to play a different take of MGS1, and I'll revisit it at some point in Extreme mode. I generally prefer to play with Game Over if Discovered on, but unfortunately this wasn't available for the first playthrough. At least I'll have it next time. The Boss Survival mode was also a great addition. Anyway, if you managed to make it through what seems to have turned into an essay, what do you think of the game? [link] [comments]

Dunno if this has been asked before, but... Posted: 27 Feb 2020 11:19 AM PST What are your thoughts on Otacon and Emma Emmerich(E.E) and how do you think the timeline would have changed after The Big Shell Incident(MGS2) if Vamp hadn't managed to fatally stab Emma? [link] [comments]
