Wait, are we absolutely sure Olga's NOT the Ninja she's looking for?

After completing an FOB mission and getting shot in the face twice, I took this screencap. Honestly, probably my favorite picture of Ocelot.

Would you prefer Konami try to continue the MGS story or produce remakes of the older games?

    Posted: 05 Dec 2019 10:37 AM PST

Would you guys prefer Konami get whatever MGS devs it has left and try to put together what it needs to try to continue the MGS storyline (meaning MGS6, MGS: Rising 2, etc.), even without Kojima, or would you rather they use the Fox Engine to remake the older games?

We've already seen this type of thing with the MGS1 port on Gamecube and that turned out surprisingly well. I just can't help but wonder, given the MGS3 Naked Snake/the Boss fight rendered using the FOX Engine for that gambling thing, if they just used the already recorded dialogue to just go through and reanimate the old games. Meaning MGS1, 2, and 3.

I think that's the only thing Konami could do, imo, that would lead to me buying ANY MGS game from them again. I was honestly going to give them a chance if they wanted to continue the story, because Kojima seemed to intend to pass the torch, so I was ready to at least TRY a new addition. But they've already shown with Survive that they can't be trusted with developing a new story. Hell, I could rant for days about that game. The story in it was just relegated to basically long Codec calls!

Anyway, I'm curious about the opinions of the rest of the MGS fanbase. Personally, as I said above, I would only trust a remake of the old games from Konami. If they tried new additions, I would be waiting for release and the subsequent reviews to even consider buying the game.

    The Metal Gear Movie

    Posted: 05 Dec 2019 07:43 AM PST

Honestly, does anyone have any hopes of it actually being good? Game based movies have a reputation of never getting it right, and well, Metal Gear is... Metal Gear. I think the games themselves are so much cinematic that a movie feels kinda unnecessary. If it ends up being good, i'll love it but if it fails, i wouldn't be surprised.

    MGS6

    Posted: 05 Dec 2019 07:39 AM PST

I haven't heard or seen anything about MGS6 except for the fact that Colin Morarity of CLS sacred symbols podcast has mentioned at least on 2 separate occasions says that MGS6 is in development. I know he has connections with the industry but do you think he actually is dropping information or just making assumptions?

    Canonically, how large was MSF?

    Posted: 05 Dec 2019 03:12 PM PST

After (finally) finishing the awkward middle child that is Peace Walker, I'm left confused as to how the organization remained so successful abroad as it intervened throughout the various revolutions occurring in Latin America in the 1970s. Even while possessing both Metal Gear ZEKE and a nuke, I'm curious about the sheer manpower behind MSF by the time of Ground Zeroes. Peace Walker depicts MSF as having access to a whole fleet of ships, helicopters, etc. even while the game maybe has the player enlist about 200 members.

[SPOILERS] Confused about the ending and what happens after it in mgsv

    Posted: 05 Dec 2019 05:10 AM PST

So in the end when Venom Snake punches the mirror and sees Demon Snake, thats him in 10 years (i think?). But I dont get what that means or how it happened. If Venom wanted to disarm all the nukes and give the child soldiers real lives while the real Big Boss wants nukes as a deterrent and was recruiting child soldiers, then why would they still work together like that. I originally thought that in the msx games Big Boss was trying to kill venom but the found out it was supposed to be a suicide mission for Solid. So basically what im wondering is what happens in the ten years in between the ending of TTP and the MSX games and how it changed Venoms philosophy.

Metal Gear Solid 5 with mods is the most accurate representation of human being-like AI in video games today

    Posted: 05 Dec 2019 12:19 PM PST

Hey guys, I just had to ramble here for a second, and I figured why not ramble about this on the reddit of metal gear. Basically I am new to pc gaming and new to modding, and all I have to say is, HOLY FUCKING SHIT BALLS Metal gear + Mods = jiz in my pants. I had no idea that pc gaming was going to be this fucking awesome... if I would have known it was going to be this awesome, I would have built my first pc years ago. This is so fucking unbelievable and I just had to rant about it here before my fucking brain explodes.

Basically I am so happy because for years I have been trying to find the game that most accurately depicts human beings in AI in terms of stealth mechanics situations. Yea that sounds fucking confusing and doesn't make sense so let me give you an example of what I'm talking about and it'll make sense - I'm talking about, when you play a stealth game, and an enemy sees you from like 20 meters away, instead of going "Hmm what was that??" followed by - "must be a bird..." , they go, "HOLY SHIT, the fucking ENEMY, FIRE!!!" I was so sick of how lenient so many stealth games were when it came to enemy stealth mechanics, and I wanted to give the AI a MAJOR increase in their perception to match the perception of actual human beings. So how did I do this??? Well I recently found out about this fucking INCREDIBLE mod called Infinite Heaven. Its a mod where you can control the AI's sense perception (for sight and sound), as well as a whole bunch of other shit. So I increased the sight and sound perception of the enemy AI by 200% and HOLY SHIT now its fucking perfect... its right around exactly what you would expect a typical human being to have in terms of sensory perception.

I also DECREASED snake's health by 80%, so now, hes like a real fucking soldier! no more fearless action running around enemy bases like the god damn predator... now I have to actually be fucking careful and plan my attack like a real fucking vulnerable soldier! I also deactivated that crap thing that makes the game go in slow motion when you get caught, and I also deactivated that bullshit white circle that appears to let you know an enemy is suspicious of you. I ALSO deactivated that bullcrap that shows you marked enemies THROUGH DOORS, jesus wtf were these people thinking.

So now, what I've got, is what I consider to be, at the time of this writing, the closest depiction to human being-like AI in any video game ever (because the AI in this game were ALREADY incredibly well programmed, they just needed a change to their sense perception sensitivity). Because developers will probably never make a game that is like this straight out of the box (because I guess there's not a wide enough market for it), mods are the perfect thing to fill the niche. If I would have known about this earlier I swear I would have gotten on this shit years ago.

Some other mods that I used to increase the realistic-ness of MGSV are:

-Infinite Silencers (yea... silencers dont fucking "break off" after 20 shots. wtf.)

-Camouflage Overhaul (this is a brilliant mod that re-invents the camo index system in the game so that the camo plays more of a role in whether or not the enemy can see you - before, all camo was almost identical)

-I cant believe its not reshade (the graphics are awesome, but this takes it to the next notch by making all colors slightly less saturated)

-No Deployment Requirements (because who in the fuck wants to spend money to go on missions?)

Basically, I'm so fucking happy right now because it looks like I created my perfect game... for years I was looking for this die hard, spec-ops simulation-like experience, and I finally found it (or at least, I finally found something thats miles better then everything I found before).

How to raise quiets bond without using her to snipe enemies?

    Posted: 05 Dec 2019 11:37 AM PST

The problem is. I want to unlock her silenced tranq rifle. But in order to raise her bond (quickly) at least. I need her to use her sniper, but she doesn't have a silencer yet and it ruins my missions of being stealthy. So is there any other way to do this?

Can your FOB be raided in MGSV even if you only attack the events?

    Posted: 05 Dec 2019 11:23 AM PST

Title. Only started using FOBs one time last year, and again currently. Always played offline otherwise. Would like to avoid the hassle of having my stuff stolen.

So I recently finished mgsv tpp and just before that I done the mission in the quarantine facility and got demon snake, I'm wondering if there's any other good way to get your heroism points up faster than extracting children, if not close to it
