(MGS3) Ive been killing people with one snake the whole game Posted: 19 Nov 2019 10:31 PM PST Im almost at the End (the dude) and so far all my kills have been from a Coral Snake ive been carrying with me. I chuck it at people to poison them, then if they go to stab it I'll make a little distraction to save my snake. Its been hilarious so far. Cant do it on bosses because I cant retrieve my snake in time and I'll lose it. But I feel like Im earning my name sake of Snake by only using a snake (for non bosses). [link] [comments]

Metal Gear Solid 1 has aged very well Posted: 20 Nov 2019 01:57 AM PST Recently bought a PS3 so I could play MGS series from 1 to 4 (never played any of the games except for MGS 1 which was around 18 years ago). I also have Ground Zeroes and Phantom Pain on my PS4 which haven't touched yet. I have to say I am thoroughly enjoying the first game. The graphics even though rather dated really fit the tone and atmosphere (I think a remake would really struggle to replicate this). The music and voice acting are really well done. I'm enjoying this game more then most AAA titles I've played in the last couple of years! [link] [comments]
Posted: 20 Nov 2019 02:11 PM PST I was wandering around mother base in MGSV TPP and I started hearing quotes from the Boss in MGS 3, is this just a small easter egg or does it mean something? [link] [comments]
Anyone else get startled by the "!" sound? Posted: 19 Nov 2019 08:18 PM PST I'm wondering how common it is for people to actually get startled by the classic "!" sound whenever they're playing. If I'm genuinely trying to be sneaky, with quiet, ambient music (or none at all) playing in the background, and all of sudden a guard that totally escaped my vision catches me, I sometimes actually jump from my seat and get startled by the sound. Let's say Konami orders a 6th Metal Gear Solid game Posted: 20 Nov 2019 09:55 AM PST How it'd turn out? Do you think they'd do a good job or would they screw up eveyhting? [link] [comments]

Posted: 19 Nov 2019 10:13 PM PST Spoilers for MGSV Anyone else feel like MGSV had a lot of spooky parts? Like any missions where you had to sneak around powerless while running from the man on fire, or especially the quarry in Afghanistan next to the huge system of caves, the beehive I think it was called. That part really had a weird air about it, to me. Then there's the skull unit, and then the obviously horror game inspired part of the game where motherbase gets quarantined and you have to walk corner to corner taking out zombie-like versions of your men. It's a rare combination that a AAA action open world game has elements of light hearted, absurdist comedy, actually interesting drama, very fun action, and genuinely unsettling, spooky elements. I think it would be cool if more conventional games checked some of those boxes. Much like how more and more movies are becoming genre-less, or melting pots of multiple genres, I can't wait for games to take that direction. The idea of a completely regular action game experience also managing to hit you right in the feelzone, or completely shitfing tone with left field comedy, or randomly dropping you in a state where you feel uneasy or powerless, all excites me. I hope it doesn't take long for big games to take this direction. Kojima really is revolutionary. [link] [comments]
Can we have a thread of terrible dialogue from the series? Posted: 19 Nov 2019 08:45 PM PST I'll start with Raiden: "it's all like a nightmare I can't wake up from!" "We've managed to avoid drowning." "Did you just say nerd?" "It was never going to work out for me. It even rained the day I was born" [link] [comments]

Hardest Final Fight in the series? Posted: 20 Nov 2019 05:49 AM PST I was just wondering what this sub's opinion was on which game had the hardest final boss fight. (The ones after the Metal Gears. MGSV is excluded as the final fight is a Metal Gear) Personally, I'm torn between Liquid Snake in the first game, Solidus in the second, and Armstrong in Rising. Liquid : Does more damage than you, no equipment or weapons to help out. Not to mention the timer doesn't allow camping and cheesing it out. Solidus : Only have a Sword (If you play Snake, you literally only have fists), insta-killing missiles on EE and Booster attacks that knock you over. "What's wrong with you?!" Gets annoying as well. Armstrong : Where do I even begin? Firstly, your only primary weapon is an unupgraded Murasama, which drains through FC very very fast. This fight has a lot of use of FC, have fun with an FC drainer for a weapon lol. Secondly, you don't get to run anywhere, Armstrong's attacks will hit you. When you beat him it just feels so satisfying. So, what are your thoughts? Who's the hardest final boss in Metal Gear Solid and why? [link] [comments] |
