I've got a theory about Phantom Pain.

    Posted: 12 Jun 2020 11:24 AM PDT

    It's just a theory tho.

So, my biggest problem with the game was that Ocelot had a southern accent perfectly done by Troy Baker. And then it clicked.

When we are sent to extract Miller, we need to get Intel about where he might be. Ocelot says that he is not good in Russian. So dont expect any translation ,mean what? U were Russian dude. You had accent through whole series.

So my theory is, that Venom is going still through hypnotherapy and these are the things filled in his head. All stories and stuff.

Maybe telling The Truth is the part of that too. Maybe he is the real big boss. I dunno. Could be anything.

Metal Gear Solid explained in one take(it's a vibe)

My ranking of Metal Gear Solid 1 bosses from easiest to hardest

    Posted: 12 Jun 2020 02:44 PM PDT

This was my experience on PC Integral's extreme difficulty.

    1. Sniper Wolf (snowfield)

Using the Nikita launcher makes this an absolute joke. Would be higher if you opt out that strategy.

    1. Vulcan Raven

Actually very difficult, but also very exploitable. You can easily get him stuck in a loop and beat him in less than a minute.

    1. Revolver Ocelot

A joke, harder than the others because you need to move to get clear shots. Ricochet can be hard to predict and dodge, but not a threat.

    1. REX

Instant kill attacks, but very predictable and can be manipulated. Staying in a certain range and moving in an "L" shape should allow you to dodge everything it throws at you.

    1. Hind D

Also has instant kill attacks, but can be outmaneuvered. Definitely a war of attrition. You'll need quite a bit of concentration, but otherwise isn't too bad.

    1. Tank

Should be easier than REX, but it moves like a bitch. Even after you slow it down with a claymore to the treads, it's still difficult to throw grenades in the right spot and it can easily run you over.

    1. Sniper Wolf (passage)

Diazepam doesn't last for shit and the arena is very small. Peeking in first-person mode will allow you to avoid attacks, but sometimes she moves too fast for you to prepare a shot. I had to rely on the weapon select menu to temporarily pause the game and adjust my shots because sniper control is terrible.

    1. Psycho Mantis

Not particularly strong and fairly predictable, but his fight lasts forever, probably the longest in the game. Your attacks don't do a much damage and you can only hit him once every few seconds. You can't exploit his movement and it drags on for way too long, increasing likelihood of mistakes. Not to mention that I had to use my keyboard for the port swap and it's very janky compared to using a controller.

    1. Liquid Snake

Total bullshit. It's hard to predict when he decides to block and counterattack. Plus, his damage output is insane. He'll combo powerful strikes that leave you no room for error. Additionally, you have the issue of instantly falling off REX and the time limit. You can get him stuck in a loop, but it requires punches at a steady rhythm and I had a hard time mastering it.

    1.Gray Fox

Everything bad about Liquid but worse. He's harder to predict and exploit. You can manipulate his movement, but he's really antsy so you'll have to include some extra steps that may make you vulnerable for attacks. Also, he takes a longer to fight.

    MGS 5 Ourobor0s - a MGSV fanart/redesign

    Posted: 12 Jun 2020 08:38 AM PDT

Hi guys, here's a project I started some years ago after the release of MGSV (which I love/hate), and it's now finished:

    https://www.artstation.com/gray_shuko/albums/935208

(it goes from right to left)
It was a good exercise to do more writing, concept art and story-telling pictures, and gave myself a more satisfying ending to the saga ;P

    Hope you enjoy, cheers!

Looking for a full version of a specific track from Ground Zeroes

    Posted: 12 Jun 2020 02:04 PM PDT

    Hi!

i've been replaying the series and am now back to Phantom Pain.

While i was finally 100%ing Ground Zeroes (Intel Operative Rescue with only the Uragan Air-S is the stuff of nightmares!), i noticed this track (at 26:42 if the timestamp doesn't work), that plays at the end of Destroy the Anti-Air Emplacements and Eliminate the Renegade Threat iirc, and it's freaking epic.

I just wanted to listen to the full-length version of it, but i can only find versions that are cut short, and it doesn't seem to be featured on any official soundtrack album.

Any of you have a link to the full version by any chance?

    Thanks!

Has anyone else noticed that the 5th Snake Tale of MGS2 is very similar to Undertale?

    Posted: 12 Jun 2020 01:54 PM PDT

I noticed this when I played through it recently, and It's similar enough to make me wonder if Toby Fox drew inspiration from it.

The basics of the story is that Solid and Hal are doing VR missions, and they find out that each time they die or reset they're going to another alterante universe. Solidus tries to stop them, proclaiming that he wants to save all of the alternate versions of himself.

This is very similar to Undertale and how whenever you reload a save it's an alternate universe, and how Sans wants to save all the other versions of himself (and his friends)

Just a weird coincidence I noticed. I haven't seen this idea explored in games anywhere but in these two situations so I wonder if it inspired Undertale

    What was skullface end plan?

    Posted: 12 Jun 2020 06:38 AM PDT

Just rewatching the mgs5 cutscenes again. It is explained 2 times. When you rescue codetalker and when you go on that long car ride.

I dont get code talkers explanation about the nukes and metal gear. So he wanted to sell nukes and metal gears all over the world but they cant fire or use them only he can?

As for the other cutscene I get that part about killing anyone who speaks English

Does anyone have access to an audio dump file from MGSV?

    Posted: 12 Jun 2020 11:57 AM PDT

There are specific sound effect I'd like to get my hands on, but the only place I can find a file with audio in it is from an old reddit post from 2015 and the link for the file invalid. Anyone possibly able to share it?
