Doesn't seem like she has much loyalty to Skull Face. Just write whatever you wanna say about whats going on down? I dont think vocal cord parasites work with pen and paper.

Ocelot and The Boss were working together, weren't they?

    Posted: 01 Feb 2022 07:44 PM PST

I had to write this out to make sense of it. I probably overcomplicated things but whatever. Read if you hate coherency and love rambling.

Ocelot and The Boss Were in Collusion

The reason The Boss defected was so that she could locate The Philosopher's Legacy. The microfilm she entrusts to Snake turns out to be a fake, which we find out in Ocelot's post-credits call to the Director of the CIA. When Ocelot says, "The film we handed the Chinese was a fake," he may not be referring to himself as a representative on behalf of the whole CIA/US.

When Ocelot first meets Snake at Rassvet, he incorrectly presumes he is meeting "the legendary Boss", so is obviously aware of her defection. It could be possible that they were supposed to make contact before she met with Colonel Volgin.

There are several times Ocelot and The Boss share looks at the mention of the Legacy, notably after Eva has her cover blown and The Boss escorts her away. Volgin has just given the microfilm to The Boss and she looks pointedly over at Ocelot, who nods at her. Ocelot has suspected "Tatiana" all throughout the game and he knows she heard Volgin reveal the location of the Legacy. In order to protect their covers, Ocelot and The Boss allow Eva to sneak down to the underground vaults and retrieve the microfilm, putting all the pressure of theft onto her and freeing themselves of risk. Knowing she would be there, Ocelot was probably the one who caught Eva, reinforcing his supposed loyalty to Volgin, as well as giving himself the chance to swap the film for a fake. The microfilm Volgin holds up is fake. That nod from Ocelot to The Boss is confirmation that the real microfilm has been replaced with a fake.

In her tape, Eva says that, right from the beginning, The Boss recognised her as a Philosopher agent (this is also likely how Ocelot knew Eva was a Chinese agent. How else could he know?). In the torture scene, The Boss and Eva share a look when Volgin reveals the Legacy's location. The Boss expects Eva to seek it out, knowing Ocelot will swap it. She helps Eva after she is caught, knowing she is working alongside Snake. The Boss knowingly gives Snake the fake Legacy, correctly predicting that Eva will steal it for China.

Ocelot's call lets us know that he and The Boss had a shared goal - to obtain the Legacy. She was loyal to the US and he was working for the CIA. He knows this was her primary mission. He also somehow knows that The Boss destroyed Groznyj Grad despite being absent in the scene where she launches the Davy Crockett. As well as that, he says the Davy Crockett is something "we brought in", confirming he was involved at some level with her defection.

If this is how it all happened, it means that The Boss passed on the real Legacy to her biological son and the false legacy to her metaphorical son. Snake is her spiritual successor but Ocelot is her true successor. Symbolism!

That's it! I hope this was clear. It may not be brand new information to some but it certainly helped me to have it all laid out in words.

How did Pliskin make it to Stillman before Raiden?

    Posted: 01 Feb 2022 06:15 PM PST

He literally fell asleep in the room that you encountered Vamp, then you run directly to the Dining Hall to meet Stillman and Pliskin is there waiting for you.

    What the fuck?

Is Diamond Dogs a company town.

We're not given a clear picture, at least I don't think, about how GMP transacts with actual currency. People at Diamond Dogs are being paid, right? I can't imagine they're just swapping GMP around. If thats the case, how exactly does GMP store value? Is GMP just a representation for DD Execs to quantify the total services, assets, and currency that DD has? This seems like the likely answer.
