If MGS3 was a simulation for Raiden what if peace walker was made as a way of reverse brainwashing the player?

Metal Gear 2: Unable to have wind point north

    Posted: 06 Feb 2022 12:38 AM PST

At the point where Snake needs to jump off the roof with the hang glider, the arrow needs to point up from the gas grenades. I have used up all my gas grenades on 4 different attempts, and it has yet to point up. Is the game bugged?

How old is Raiden in MGSV Ground Zeros?

    Posted: 06 Feb 2022 01:47 AM PST

In MGS 2, I assume Raiden is as the same age as Snake and Liquid, maybe a few years in difference but not much.

But Ground Zeros happened long before that, then in Phantom Pain, Liquid is still a kid.

So .. How old is Raiden in Ground Zeros?

    Making MGS4's twist make sense.

    Posted: 05 Feb 2022 09:05 PM PST

In Metal Gear, your commander is Big Boss. Big Boss betrays you and Snake, revealing himself to be the leader of the enemy fortress Outer Heaven.

In Metal Gear Solid, this theme of your superiors betraying you continues, as Campbell sadly and begrudgingly gradually reveals to Snake how much he has been withholding and lying, which drives a wedge between them.

Metal Gear Solid 2 continues this by having the Colonel being a fictitious AI construct, having lied about every aspect of the mission up until that point.

Metal Gear Solid 3 twists Metal Gear's original formula of your superiors betraying you, making it seem that The Boss did so, much like Big Boss did in MG. In the end, this is subverted, as The Boss never betrayed her country. Rather, her country is the one who betrayed Snake.

But what about Metal Gear Solid 4? How does this fit in to this pattern?

Well, its simple. The twist that Zero is the founder of The Patriots is the logical extreme to this formula.

Metal Gear Solid 4 is all about every meme and every concept within the MGS universe getting old and expanding out of control. Everything from the War Economy to the Patriots world-domination to Snake's aging expresses that this world is the logical extreme of every idea we've seen in the franchise up till this point. Zero was the first commander in the series chronology. Just as in the original MG Big Boss is revealed to be the secret bad guy pulling the string, Zero in MGS4 is revealed to be the secret antagonist of the entire series. It is the idea of your superiors betraying you, but pushed to its extreme just like everything else in MGS4.
