Anyone else think the MGSV twist is one of the best in gaming?

    Posted: 20 Oct 2021 10:26 PM PDT

Just finished replaying MGSV and I really think the twist of playing as a fake Big Boss is one of my favorite twists in video games. It makes complete sense with the title being V when it would have been 5 for Big Boss because the roman numeral is a different symbol but same number. Which is the same type of relationship as Big Boss and Venom. That and the fact that The Man Who Sold the World is a cover in the game because Venom is a copy of Big Boss.

Because I was replaying the game I already knew and was more focused on finding the hints and there's a lot more. The twist really captivates me and I just wanted to hear how people think about it years later because I know the community wasn't into it when the game released.

Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake is one the best games of the saga!

    Posted: 21 Oct 2021 01:12 PM PDT

So today I finally completed Metal Gear 2 : Solid Snake and it was an awesome experience! Now I can say to have played all games of the main saga ( + MGRR )

Is a total improvement over the first Metal Gear.

    • The setting look better and more realistic. The country of Zanzibarland is nicely described in the manual.

    • There is more story and the characters are deeper.

    • The "puzzles" are challenging yet easy.

    • The music is a blast! From the Infiltration music to the beautiful Romantic music of the cutscenes with Holly and Natasha and the tension filled Bosses music.

    • The character of Gray Fox have more depth than in MGS1.

    • The characters have more depth than in MG1.

    • Is extremely nice that to defeat Big Boss by setting him on fire, especially after what he did to the poor Quiet Almost as we learn in MGS4 he goes under a radical change, just like her How ironic and symbolic.

So is a 10/10 for me. Great game. Especially for a game of the 1990.

    Loved it.

Do you miss out on anything in the game if you don't S Rank + complete all tasks for the Prologue?

    Posted: 21 Oct 2021 10:10 AM PDT

I am aiming to S Rank and complete all tasks in MGSV except for the prologue where I got an A and no tasks - would this stop me from accessing something or a trophy later in the game? Thanks in advance im a new player.

    Best outfit/camo?

    Posted: 21 Oct 2021 10:59 AM PDT

In Afghanistan I always used Desert Fox, but I think I'm heading to Africa soon, because we just discovered there's some activity in central Africa. What camo or suit should I use? Is the sneaking suit any good? Are camos even worth using?

Interrogations and the map in MGSV

    Posted: 21 Oct 2021 09:15 AM PDT

Does anyone know anything about this? I've been playing MGSV for a while, but I've noticed that whenever I interrogate a guard to get information and the iDroid says ''Map has been updated'', nothing on the map actually changes, like no markers show up or anything. If anyone knows shit about this, I'd be grateful to hear it.

Who Is Your Favorite Metal Gear Character? What Makes Them So Special?

    Posted: 21 Oct 2021 06:01 AM PDT

Perhaps more than any other series in existence, Metal Gear Solid contains some of gaming's most iconic characters- going far beyond the cliched stereotypes often associated with the typical protagonist and antagonist tropes implemented in other games.

From the tragic tale of Ninja to Big Boss's complex, political motivations driving the development of Outer Heaven, more often than not, members of Metal Gear's cast carry compelling backstories.

In true Kojima style, these often hint at unexplored aspects of the human condition while providing poignant moments that tug at the heartstrings - Take Mantis's death monologue in MGS1, for example.

To celebrate Metal Gear's incredible cast of iconic characters, I'm interested to know who your favorite is from the franchise, and if you can, explain what makes them so special.

In our upcoming lore video, entitled "Ninja, the Man Behind the Exoskeleton," launching this weekend, I'd love to include some of your suggestions at the end of the video.

In the meantime, check out "Mantis, the Man Behind the Mask" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AOGQ3yOylnw

[MGS2] I managed to use Ray Tracing Global Illumination on PS2 Emulator.

[MGS2] I managed to use Ray Tracing Global Illumination on PS2 Emulator.

Hey everyone. I've been experimenting with Reshade on the PCSX2 emulator and I finally managed to use ReShade Ray Tracing shader (RTGI) on MGS2 Substance.

Here is some screenshots for you :

    RTGI OFF

    RTGI ON

This is the depth buffer of the game + RTGI doing his global illuminations, took me 2 days to find a way to proper exploit it with RTGI because the values needed of this game are very odd.

    RTGI OFF

RTGI ON (see the nice reflection on the wall *-*)

PS: Don't hesitate to ask for other places of the game
