    Oftentimes I wonder, realistically, what are the personnel on Mother Base doing for fun? When they aren't training? Surely they're allowed to have fun aside from training?

    1984 was a fine year for television. Television that I feel could've been a helpful influence in the strategy and decisions of Venom's Mother Base. For instance, The A-Team was airing back then. Surely they could've watched The A-Team and thought "We could use some of these tactics." Night Court had premiered earlier that year, that could've informed how to handle Huey's trial. 1984 was the year we got the "Where's the beef" lady from Wendy's. While at the same time, Kaz worked to create a burger that would earn the approval of a crotchety senior citizen. There was the 1984 U.S. Presidential Election, Reagan winning 525 electoral votes, I have to believe Kaz had his suspicions that Cipher had a hand in that. 1984 was the year we got the Alex Trebek version of Jeopardy, the debut of The Cosby Show, and the series finale of Happy Days. What I wouldn't give to hear some tapes or conversations around the base about those moments.

    I find myself watching compilations on YouTube of commercials that aired in 1984, and wondering what it would be like on Mother Base, watching this. 1984 it was still a little early for adults to play video games, and the Famicom hadn't even hit the international market yet. But maybe, just maybe, they could've gotten ahold of one for the Mbele kids.

    Just Finished Metal Gear Solid 4.

    That is Metal Gear Solid 4, the end of Solid Snake's Story. What a ride from beginning to end, I truly enjoyed it, Snake was given a fantastic send off. He's truly a gaming icon, and his story in 4 was tragic, but satisfying to the fullest. His war has ended, and the new generation can go on to see a new future, free of proxy wars ruled by Patriots.

    Question about Revolver Ocelot’s voice

    Now obviously young Ocelot's voice sounds very different because he's younger, but as he gets older his voice becomes a lot more villainous and such.

    My question is does Ocelot put on a voice to play up more to the cowboy aesthetic that he grows into as he ages? The reason I ask stems from the fight in MGS1, when he gets his hand cut off his accent/tone drops when he says "my hand?!" and he sounds a lot more like young Ocelot.

    So is it feasible to say he's playing up to the cowboy aesthetic putting on the voice but drop it unwillingly and reverts to his real voice when he loses his hand?

    Today I finished Metal Gear Solid 4 which was the last one for me to complete! I can't exaggerate my love for this series and it's characters. While I did complete them in an unusual order of 5,2,3,1,4 I still thoroughly enjoyed the story and just wanted to share this with others. I'm now playing Peace Walker and will try to complete Metal Gear 1 and 2 at some point.

    Overall, a great set of games and characters, and a great community too!

    There's something extremely special about metal gear games. It ties into my personal fascination with the military industrial complex, the futility of revenge, and then ties it all together with gameplay that I can't get anywhere else. I bought death stranding a few years ago, hoping that the dev team would give me the freedom of destroying my enemies much like mgsv. Unfortunately, fighting the MULES is nothing like mgs.

    I know my expectations were wrongfully placed, but I still feel there is a lack of refined stealth gameplay in today's gaming market. Am I wrong? Should I pick up ghost recon wildlands or hit man 3? Will that fill the void?
