Posted: 25 May 2021 02:38 PM PDT So this is semi a response to the current hate for Metal Gear Solid 4:Guns of the Patriots. I feel like nowadays the MGS community is a lot more critical after the controversy of MGSV may or may not being finished. There's a lot of contention about anything post 3 and I've been hearing a lot of criticism about 4 being everything wrong with the series. But for me this was a beautiful ending to MGS 1 & 2's storylines. I do think we sadly lost a lot of tactical espionage gameplay of 1-3. It started to be more about overall war, militias and armies which I suppose makes sense for 4 and Big Boss' story post Snake Eater. Sure the gameplay and story were all over the place and never really tied down to one specific beat. But overall wasn't it a decent loveletter to the fans and ending to Metal Gear? I feel like the whole game was about closure and for me that was what it accomplished. My question is what are your thoughts on this game? Would it be. Especially to the people who aren't big fans of 4, would you rather they didn't make it? [link] [comments]

MGS4 death screen flashing images Posted: 25 May 2021 02:57 PM PDT So guys I've met the Metal Gear Solid series thanks to my uncle, every time I was with him he was always playing Metal Gear Solid 4 and I was wondering, what do the flashing images during the death screen resemble? I have two main explanations 1. They show you the consequences of your death 2. They show how the mission was supposed to end, these are just my suppositions so please let me know what the meaning of that images Is thanks again and hope I types in a understandable way [link] [comments]
Experience with MGS4 on PSNow? Posted: 25 May 2021 01:06 PM PDT Hi, all. Heartbroken PS5 hunter here. Almost pulled the trigger on a StockX purchase, but scalpers shall not prevail. I have tried to be patient, but with the new Ratchet and Clank title launching soon, I've been on the hunt for a PS5 with no luck. Searching the threads in that community, I found out a lot of their PS3 titles are on PSNow. They sound fun to revisit, but I don't want to get the service just for these games, because I've already played and beaten them. I have a Vita with all of the other MGS titles when I need to scratch the itch. However, I've only gotten to play MGS4 start to finish once in my life. Fantastic game, but I grew up with an older brother who always had dibs on the PS3 and took it with him when he moved away. I don't feel like buying the console for this single game. Anyways, does anyone have recent experience with it on PSNow? I know years ago when it launched it was super buggy and frame rates made it unplayable. But I would like to take my time going through it again because it's a masterpiece IMO, and $60 for a year of the service doesn't sound awful if their titles are able to run smoothly. TLDR: Me venting about PS5 scalpers; asking for takes on PSNow's ability to run MGS4. [link] [comments]
Small plothole in MGSV relating to Quiet Posted: 25 May 2021 01:28 AM PDT I've been using Quiet as a buddy for a while now and I remember Ocelot saying she doesn't breathe, and that she breathes through her skin, yet I can't help but notice when she's humming her theme she takes breaths in between her hums. Is there an explanation for this or is it a mistake? [link] [comments]
Posted: 25 May 2021 08:09 AM PDT Edit: NOT chronological order...my mistake. I meant release order. I guess I was thinking "real-world chronological order" or something. Alright, so I've done my share of searching for this topic, and it seems the vast majority of you advocate for playing the series in chronological order. Nevertheless, I think my circumstances are unique enough to warrant this post... I'd really like for my fiancé to experience Metal Gear in some capacity. She's very interested in exploring that medium of storytelling and I've really hyped her up to MGS over time lol. That being said, she hasn't played many video games and neither of us have much time on our hands right now thanks to school, so I'm worried that marathoning the series starting with MGS1 might not be a possibility. I likewise worry that MGS1's story might not grab her attention to the extent of MGS3's, but I also do not want her to miss major story beats from the previous games should we choose to subsequently play through the entire series. Effectively, I'm at a crossroads. Should we play through MGS3 blind, should I provide her context before we play MGS3, or should we just bite the bullet and play the games in chronological order? What do you think, Bosses? :) [link] [comments]

Posted: 25 May 2021 02:40 PM PDT Why does Konami make MGS1 so god damn inaccessible, I have quite a few consoles and none of which can play it, I'm not smart enough to understand emulators so that's off the table and all this struggle just because I want to play the first mgs game [link] [comments]
MGS: Confused about the twist where Liquid is revealed to be posing as Miller. Posted: 25 May 2021 12:17 AM PDT Hey everyone, I recently got the first MGS game via PSN and it's my first experience with the series. I made it till the part where I fight against the metal gear and I'm loving it so far . However the plot twist that liquid snake was posing as master Miller has brought up a few questions in my mind . How could he know about Naomi and the FBI ? Also , why does he alert snake to it ? Is it some sort of attempt at sowing distrust in the team so snake can't succeed ? But he says he has been directing events so that snake could succeed and activate the metal gear via the pal codes. This is all a bit confusing for me , so I'd appreciate if someone could clarify this. In case it is explained later in the game, or in other games , then I'd appreciate if someone can direct me to said game so I can experience it myself, without any spoilers. Thank you :) [link] [comments]
(MGS V)The battle dress only goes up to grade 10 for me but a video shows battle dress grade 11. Posted: 25 May 2021 05:48 AM PDT Was this patched out or why does it say grade 11. Am I missing something? It only goes up to 10 for me. Edit:problem solved. [link] [comments] |
