Looking for MGSV JF Rey Sunglasses

    Posted: 31 May 2021 04:04 PM PDT

Specifically one of the "Kaz gear". I really wanted these when they were announced and had them on my list for years. I only just started working at the time though and couldn't make enough for them. Now since summer is coming up, I'm looking again but can't find them anywhere, even on eBay. Is there anywhere I should look or anyone on this sub who might want to sell theirs? Thanks again.

The importance of spoilers in Metal Gear Solid

    Posted: 31 May 2021 05:42 AM PDT

I don't know exactly how to begin this post, but maybe it would be a good start saying that I just completed MGS2 for the first time, and although I loved it, I really regret my path through the franchise. Let me explain myself:

The first MGS game I ever played was MGS4. My uncle bought me the HD Collection for my birthday about 4 years ago, I didn't ask him for it so I really didn't know what I was getting into. So I decided to pick up MGS4 since it was the most "modern 3rd person shooter-like". Big mistake. I really enjoyed the game, but trying to understand the game I went through a million MG Wiki pages, and of course I got A LOT of spoilers. Still I could barely get the whole picture.

I tried MGS3 and MGS2 but honestly I just couldn't deal with the controls. Then I picked up MGS1 and for some reason I actually got very far, until the torture scene which I couldn't complete and never played it again.

Then, 3 years later I finally decided to play MGS3 and I loved it, I played it front to back for an entire month, I played it on Euro Extreme twice, got the platinum aswell. And again, to understand the story I read many Wiki pages. I also replayed MGS4 and read even more Wiki pages to try to get a fuller picture. But what I never thought about was that I should have played the games in order in the first place instead of going for the one I was the most comfortable with.

And all of this lead to me now wanting to play MGS2. Although I actually never wanted to play it. From what I remembered, it got very boring for me when the Big Shell chapter began (and I obviously got to a point when I couldn't deal with the controls anymore). But a few months ago I got in my recommended a video all of you probably have already seen, "The most profound moment in gaming history". I clicked on it thinking that I would never play MGS2, then I got the mother of all spoilers.

I think most of us can agree that realizing GW was imitating Colonel Campbell and Rose, and that the Patriots manipulated Raiden to forget Solidus, his own past, and even change his opinions (not in a direct way, but through manipulation of media) is one of the biggest (if not THE biggest) twists in the entire franchise. Also knowing beforehand that Kojima could in a certain way predict an era of over information and where useless information is stored forever, and AI's and algorithms that can manipulate content and opinions ruins the experience of the game. And I was so angry while I was playing the game, I literally couldn't believe I ruined for myself what is arguably the best plot in the entire Metal Gear series just because I didn't want to give MGS2 a try. All of the emotions I would have experienced if I played it without knowing a single thing would have been great, but now all I can do is appreciate the story for what it is, and although I really enjoyed it, the experience was, in a certain way, already ruined.

Seriously, I'm not exaggerating, I even feel a little empty right now lol. Obviously, the twists aren't what makes the game so good, but considering how massive they are it is a very important part of the experience. It has to be mindblowing.

    TL;DR:

The story of these games is essential for the experience. PLAY. THE. GAMES. IN. ORDER. Or at least begin with MGSV (don't try getting deeper into the story though) to overall understand how MGS games are "meant to be played", and then go with MGS1. Reading the story of Metal Gear 1 and 2 is also recommended for a further understanding of MGS1. Don't worry if you don't get used to the graphics or controls at the beginning, you will eventually get used to it. I didn't play them in order and it ruined a bit of the experience for me, so PLAY THEM IN ORDER. That's all, thank you for coming to my TED Talk

Do outfits make a difference in the phantom pain?

    Posted: 31 May 2021 08:14 AM PDT

I started playing recently and i spent more mony on outfits than anything else, i noticed that one of the outfits makes me invisible to thermal vision but do some outfits makes it easier than other to get spotted? Like i'm a wearing a Tuxedo in a desert instead of camo, will it make stealth harder?

I'm struggling with the stealth, this game made me realize how terrible i am at planning.

Does he lose your support automatically? Can you forgive them somehow if that happens? (add them again).

Just got past mission 28 in Phantom Pain

    Posted: 30 May 2021 11:04 PM PDT

I can not express how glad I am that the SKULLs are story only enemies. If they spawned out in the world on their own, this game would have me paranoid to hell and back. They're cool in theory, but they're so terrifying and annoying to deal with.
