    An appreciation to MGR ost.

    Posted: 27 Apr 2021 02:42 PM PDT

I don't even know where to start... Well, it's my first time playing MGR after some years, it was my favorite game as a kid (Well, Raiden is a badass samurai robot, what did you expect?) and it was a magic experience.

I though that after finishing the game multiple times in the past I would never be as impressed as I'm after finishing the game again. The thing that made me (cool word warning) flabbergasted was the soundtrack.

The first moment that I felt shivers going down my spine was in the very first bossfight of the game, Metal Gear Ray. Rules of Nature is such an awesome song, and it's perfectly fit for the Metal Gear Ray bossfight, you feel so fucking powerful and badass, just to get your ass kicked by Sam, perfect.

All songs are perfectly fit for their bossfights, Bladewolf is the next bossfight and his music is literally him talking being his own master, about how he can know control himself, how he could now free himself from the chains, just perfectly fit, and a amazing song, probably my favorite one.

Mistral is the next, and she's an amazing boss. Amazing idea, song, arena, personality, just crazy good stuff, her song having the only female singer is a plus, her song is just extremely good, with the chorus being one of the best ones that I ever listened too.

Khamsin is seriously my most hated boss. He seems so without a purporse, so vague, even when you think he had freedom in mind, you know that Abkhazian mission was never about freedom (Mistral says this). Even with all of that, his song is pretty nice. The lyrics aren't as impactful though.

Moonsoon fights because he wants to feel something else than pain and sorrow, and his song shows that really well. "Wash away the sorrow, all stains of time" is one of the best sentences I ever heard in a song. This is the most fitting of them all I guess, you probably died multiple times against him, I did it too, and this song is all about pain and sorrow, Moonsoon is unrelenting and hectic, and his song is too.

This song. Sundowner song. This one is all about the brutality, the cruelty that made him a beast of the warfare. The lyrics, the composition, all brutal. Sundowner isn't about introspection, about a true purpose, or even the sorrow of life, Sundonwer is about strenght, about being a monster, a fucking invincible monster, and I love this shit.

"The mountains dont give back what they take." Sam's song is the deepest of them all. He shows all his thoughts, all his anguish and of course, Sam being the honorable motherfucker he is. He doesn't call for help like all the others do, it's just a face to face combat until death with Raiden. Even when he dies, he still gives you his sword. About his song? Fucking amazing, the game even syncs your sword clashes with the song, it's marvelous.

Now for the first Armstrong song. Metal Gear Excelsus. This one has my favorite lyrics of all. It shows how fucked up the Metal Gear world is. My personal guess, but Raiden actually agrees with the senator. The world is really fucked up, and the world needs to be corrected by the war.

The last bossfight song shows this to me. It has to be this way. It really needs, there's no other way to correct all of this. This song isn't about any of the bosses we fought till this moment, it's about Raiden. This is Raiden's theme, those are his thoughts. He says in the lyrics " Violence breeds violence, but in the end it has to be this way." and " I've carved my own path, ou followed your wrath, but maybe we're both the same."

Raiden in this game starts talking about how he seeks peace, and ends accepting that the world is fucked up, and he needs to correct it. But he knows that if he uses violence, it will just breed violence, it's perfect. There's nothing he can do, but he'll try anyway "Yet staring across this barren wasted land I feel new life will be born, beneath the blood stained sand."

PS: The songs show us most of the lore behind the Winds of Destruction and Raiden himself, and these songs are fucking incredible. This is just an appreciation (and some of my opinion about the ending of MGR.) I didn't think before making this post, and my understanding of the lore is not the greatest, but let's keep this civile, shall we? Also, sorry about grammar and etc, I'm Brazilian (Just like Sam) and my english isn't perfect, not even near.

So apparently the PF fantasy league thing kept running for the 4 years I stepped away from the game.

    Posted: 27 Apr 2021 01:42 PM PDT

I recently restarted the game again after deleting my save. I came back and I had something 5 million PF points. I used it all to buy S++ staff and immediately got all departments to level 50.

Something like 20 S++ per department). Good stuff.

(Yes I direct contracted them lol)

We all know Snake Eater is the best one, but let's name something that sucks about it.

I'm gonna go with the camera in that final fight against The Boss. Most of that battle was me fighting against the goddamned camera rather than The Boss. I understand that it was an intentional choice; if it were executed better, if the camera were continually shifting out in front of me with each step I made in either direction, it would work better. But it doesn't. It's just an incomprehensible mess.

For those who play mgs5 and are basically veteran and on (I'm still kinda new) does having more specialist make tranqs better or does it really not affect it

Was the top of Arsenal Gear where you fight the rays a VR Room?

    Posted: 26 Apr 2021 05:14 PM PDT

So, Snake tells you to leave while he fights Fortune via a ladder. After you climb the ladder, you end up in a room with seemingly no ceiling or ladder which should be on the floor from where raiden accesses the room. Was it some kind of x men Danger Room?
