After five years, I think I finally know why I keep coming back to MGS V. Posted: 02 Oct 2020 10:56 AM PDT It's the unpredictability of each mission. It's about making your way into Afghanistan Central Base Camp, planning a route to take, only to have a curve ball thrown into the mix. The game does this so well that I end up mixing the curve ball into my plan and expanding upon it. The Infinite Heaven mod is so perfect for this. You can have helicopters patrol the open world. You can have tanks and armored vehicles spawn in place of the trucks that drive around Afghanistan and Africa. You can even have random patrols walking about from base to base! My favorite load out by far is a stun shotgun (for those no reflex alert moments), tranq pistol, a magazine, phantom cigar (I play with a time ratio of 1:1, each second in-game is exactly one second, also moddable in Infinite Heaven) and cardboard box. I turn on enemy item drops using IH and I improvise a plan with the items I end up finding when interrogating enemies. So basically I drop in with bare essentials and I work out a plan from there. It's so much better than spending GMP (and resources) on items I barely use. Now I get one C4 or one smoke grenade from an enemy and I have to know when and where to use it. Also S++ soldier mod and Morbid's Side Op Expansion Pack are amazing! That's all I have to say. Take care! [link] [comments]
Who do you think the Patriots should have been? Posted: 02 Oct 2020 03:15 PM PDT I know many people weren't happy with the Mgs3 crew being the Patriots, so who do you think the La Li Lu Le Lo should have been and why? Personally I was satisfied with the Mgs3 crew. [link] [comments]
Posted: 02 Oct 2020 08:05 AM PDT What is every important characters signature weapon you associate with them? Here is my list. Boss: Patriot Big boss: 1911 Raiden: HF Blade or Socom The End: Mosin Nagant Oceleot: SAA(Single Action Army) These are the only ones I could think of off the top of my head. Snakes signature gun is what im most curios to here because he has so many that can fit into his slot, however please let me know about all the other characters such as liquid and solidus if they have one. Today I join this community happily! Posted: 02 Oct 2020 02:24 PM PDT Today is the day I've begun playing Metal Gear Solid for the first time ever, and I must say, I'm very impressed. The story is very engaging for a PS1 game, I was not expecting that. Also the gameplay is very fun, especially at the first boss fight (the only one I've done so far). I've decided to play it since it came out for the PC and I've always been intrigued by the "most confusing story ever" title some fans have attributed to the games! [link] [comments]
Can you turn off the bilinear filtering in the new PC versions? Posted: 02 Oct 2020 04:28 PM PDT I'm considering buying the GOG.com version, but I find the bilinear filtering to be super gross. Can it be removed? [link] [comments]
Posted: 02 Oct 2020 03:52 PM PDT Why did sniper wolf go along with liquids plan? He often expressed his hatred for big boss but she was saved by BB and gave her a chance in life (all be it, a killer) I know she wanted revenge on the world for what happened to her people but can you really imagine her standing there while Liquid goes on and on about how much he would love to have killed him instead of snake ! Should I play Phantom Pain if I've never played the previous games? Posted: 02 Oct 2020 02:47 AM PDT As the title says, should I? The story looks really confusing and as if i jumps between a realistic world and some weird fantasy game. Why do people have electric powers, why are there so many versions of the main character, why is that skull face dude like that????? [link] [comments]
Posted: 02 Oct 2020 07:42 AM PDT Eva in mgs4 said that the information surrounding big boss was filled with exaggeration, half truths and outright lies. what are those outright lies she speaks about. what if it's all those crazy gameplay elements that aren't canon. big boss lifting the cocoon in peace walker. every s rank mission he's ever done. any mission where he takes out a helicopter or tank team with just a tranq gun by himself. what if all that never happened. what if it he really just killed all those soldiers in the tank or maybe only tranqed a few of them. then those stories passed by the soldiers he recruited turned into exaggeration and lies. those lies then feed into the legend that is big boss. think about why so many soldiers betray their country to join him. he's a super badass that sees potential in you and decides that you are worthy of his time. you'd probably join because you are glad he didn't kill you which if you bought into the legend, he could do without breaking a sweat. Posted: 02 Oct 2020 03:04 PM PDT I'm wondering if there's anything in the works to create a subsistence-style camera for mgs2. I started thinking about this when I spent an hour in Strut F getting spotted and then killed by guards that I had no dream of seeing. [link] [comments]
why in MGSV cant you look outside of a building? Posted: 02 Oct 2020 08:45 AM PDT if you are inside a building and you try to look out of a door or a window normally, it will just be pure white, you can't see anything. also, if you peek out a window from cover, it will show you out the window, but the inside of the building will become fully black. why can't the lighting just be normal? Metal Gear Solid V Analysis - Good idea or no? Posted: 02 Oct 2020 12:10 AM PDT Hey y'all, I'm thinking about creating a long form, in depth video essay about The Phantom Pain and Ground Zeroes, critiquing and analyzing the game and its story specifically from a post-colonialist perspective (the game is deeply entrenched with post colonial ideas, but no one online seems to talk about it for some reason). I'm on the fence about it because although I feel strongly about it, I don't know if its worth all the time and effort if others aren't interested in it. If I make it, it's going to be very detailed and have a lot of research put into it which means not only getting footage, playing the game, and editing the video, but also re-reading a lot of really dense post-colonial theory and literature and synthesizing various ideas and frameworks into a specific and well constructed thesis. That's something that takes a lot of time and effort to do, and I'm just not sure too many people would be that interested in it since the game is getting old and there aren't as many people interested in it as there were five years ago. So I figured before I make a decision, I'd ask y'all. Would y'all be interested in a video like that? Would you think it's worth your time to watch a critique of a game that's half a decade old, or do you think it's a waste of time? [link] [comments]
Looking for Quiet Maneater music video Posted: 02 Oct 2020 10:36 AM PDT Some guy made a Maneater music video centered around Quiet, with scenes from her cell, from missions and when she comes onto the heli when you're leaving. I can't find it any more, any one know where to get it? I only have two excerpt somehow on my disk, not sure why they aren't the full video. https://www.dropbox.com/s/l1xz8s3vj6tmlxm/mgsv_maneater_1_whatsapp.mp4?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/l1xz8s3vj6tmlxm/mgsv_maneater_1_whatsapp.mp4?dl=0 I think I originally got it from youtube. What you get when you search youtube is not that video btw. Any help would be appreciated [link] [comments]
Any tips of playing MGS2 or MGS3 on PS2 Posted: 02 Oct 2020 02:20 PM PDT I'm having difficulty doing anything in this fucking game, does anyone have any tips? Specifically with the controls and item menus? [link] [comments]
Posted: 02 Oct 2020 10:06 AM PDT What's the best way to infiltrate bases? I just got mgsv and started playing it and I'm still learning the basics but one thing I have found surprisingly difficult is infiltrating bases. I'm not used to stealth games so being stealthy is tricky but when I'm not stealthy I die pretty quickly. Iv tried to scope out the bases with my binoculars to spot all the enimies but I usually only spot a few. When I go in to infiltrate an enemy spots me and alerts the rest of the enemies. Anyone have any tips? [link] [comments] |
