Finished MGS3. Really is one of the best games I've ever played. Absolute masterpiece.

A cool little detail : At the start of MGRR, the HUD is the MGS4 one (Raiden body at the start of MGRR is based on his MGS4 one.)

[SPOILERS] Just finished MGS2 for the first time

My first ever mgs game as well (because I have an Xbox one, although I did watch a full play through of mgs 1 to get a feel for the story and characters ofc), and man I loved it. The gameplay was sooo fun, I loved the mission variety and amazing stealth mechanics, although the controls kinda sucked a bit. But it held up surprisingly well in the gameplay department, no braindead people running around like headless chickens and you can do that freeze thing which is badass, satisfying and never gets old, never... The story for me was really good, even if it was a bit convoluted. I actually thought I wasn't gonna understand anything about the story, but I feel like I understood most of it. But I loved how twisted it was especially towards the end and it was SO creepy when colonel was getting all fucked up and shit and turning around. And when Rose revealed she was pregnant her pupils went up into her head and she sounded like a fucked up robot and it was fucked up. I loved those parts. I honestly think I said 'what the fuck' more times in the last few hours of the game than I've ever said in my life. I also thought that Emma's death was quite good and sad. I also liked most of the characters, I mean snake was brilliant as always as well as otacon (there's one cutscene which was the best cutscene ever made, you guys know what I'm on about) and I actually liked Raiden. At first he was annoying and whiny but towards the end he started to develop into a good character and I liked his backstory. As for villains, solidus was super badass and cool, ocelot was amazing, badass and just plain ocelot fucking awesome, fortune was good (if she counts as a villain) although I liked sniper wolf a bit more, vamp was just sorta a vampire, fatman was pretty cool too and I thought his boss fight was very fun. I honestly thought I would find the characters weird and it is but it feels right for some reason. It really is what gives metal gear solid that metal gear solid feel. It's the randomist shit ever, even if there's no way it makes sense they somehow explain it to make sense. The cutscenes as well were so fucking awesome especially ocelot, every time I see ocelot in a cutscene I'm like 'oh shit, shits going down now''. And the music GODDAM that was some ocarina level shit right there. MAAAN I love this game and I heard mgs 3 was even better. Well, I guess I'm a huge mgs fan now....

    new to the mgs series

    Posted: 18 Jun 2020 06:15 PM PDT

hi there! i've recently had the urge to explore the mgs games since i never played any of them before, but i'm a bit confused if i should play them in chronological order when it comes to release date or story timeline?
Also it would really help out if someone mentioned the games that i should go through separately for others that may be more branched out story wise.

The first Metal Gear Solid still is unmatched for me

    Posted: 18 Jun 2020 07:45 AM PDT

This game along with Final Fantasy VII are two games that changed how I look at video games. To this day no other game in this franchise has had the same feel. Shadow Moses is the most iconic location for a reason and no other game has had the same atmosphere like how the first game had. Another feature unique to this game was the leveling progression system of beating the boss to improve Snakes stats increasing health, ammo, and resources snake could hold. I'm not sure why this was dropped after this game. The codec team in this game is the best and has the most underrated character in Natasha. The game had the perfect amount of it twists to keep things interesting. The bosses and villains were the most memorable practically every boss/character became iconic. Lastly Snakes character development was fantastic and his self awareness made him different than most other hero's he was almost an anti hero. Snake wasn't a stereotypical bad ass he was a guy who saw war for what it was and despite Meryls praise didn't glorify it. The franchise has had worthy entry's and I understand why sequels are regarded as the best but outside of graphical limitations and technological limitations I think the first game reached highs of the series that were never quite hit again.

Does using codec affect play time in mgs3?

    Posted: 18 Jun 2020 10:29 AM PDT

I wanted to do an extreme, non lethal, no alerts run and get a fox or foxhound rank, but I want to use codec here and there, does it affect overall play time?

    Twin Snakes fan art WIP

Alright guys, I’m leaving this up to the MGS community. Got both of these yesterday. I’ve already done videos about the MG, and MGS1 novels. Should I do MGS2 or MGS4 next.

    Posted: 18 Jun 2020 08:42 AM PDT

I already did a MGS2 vid but would re-record and add a book segment. MGS4 would be brand new.
