    How double think sheds more light on Liquid Ocelot

    So in MGSV Ocelot explains to the real Big Boss that despite knowing who the real Big Boss is he will use self hypnosis to make himself bury that truth and accept a new truth that Venom is the real Big Boss, atleast until the time comes where he needs to remember who the real one is - he likens this to the concept of "doublethink" from George Orwell's 1984.

    Doublethink is essentially a process of indoctrination; or brainwashing where one is expected to accept as true that which is clearly false, or to accept two contradictory beliefs as correct. This totally fits with having to accept two different people as being the real Big Boss

    It can also however be directly applied to Ocelots actions in MGS4, where he again used self hypnosis to make himself believe he is Liquid Snake - in this instance it was again an example of doublethink- he was believing in the truth of something despite knowing it was false. In this respect it was not just acting, he truly believed in the truth that he was Liquid but deep down understood he was Ocelot. So I think this indicates that there were never two separate personas at work with two separate plans and objectives - there was one plan from the start, one objective. Use Snake to take out The Patriots system whilst using the plan to nuke JD as a decoy to distract The Patriots, with the ultimate goal to realise Outer Heaven after the system is eliminated leaving chaos in its wake. This was Ocelots plan from the start, but he carried out in the belief he was Liquid Snake. Doublethink.

    So Ocelot was absolutely not a hero, he was just a loyal devotee of Big Boss to the end and wanted to fulfill his dream for him. Unfortunately Naomi scuppered his plan when she encouraged Sunny yo find away to prevent the world falling into chaos via FOXALIVE
