PS3 Metal Gear Solid or Gamecube Twin Snakes Posted: 18 Apr 2020 04:18 PM PDT I want to perform an entire play though of the Metal Gear series in release order. I believe every game other than MGS1 is now on the Xbox One backwards compatibility, and I have MGS V on PC. For MGS1 however, I will need to use another console. I am planning to do a recording/stream for the entire series. I know people do not like Twin Snakes compared to the original. I played the original when it came out and played it for months, beat it about 20-30 times. However, I recently played a bit of it and the gameplay just does not hold up for today. I was finding myself getting more frustrated by the game than enjoying it. I have not played Twin Snakes, however I do love the gameplay of MGS2 and higher. I know some people complain about the over the top cutscenes, that will not bother me at all. They sound more like action movie scenes. I find myself more irritated by Vamp in MGS2 (survives a shot to the head, runs on water and UP the side of one of the struts of Big Shell) than I would ever feel about these cutscenes. I want to play these games for the enjoyment, not for the nostalgia. I am sure as someone watching my videos of these play through, they probably would not want someone getting irritated by the dated MGS 1 gameplay. Either way, I have a setup to record PS3 or Gamecube and I actually do have both games available. I wrote down a pros/cons list and most of the pros for MGS1 is nostalgia. Twin Snakes I think wins if I am wanting to play the games for fun and get the story too. So I guess my question is, revisiting the story of MGS1 is my main concern. Lets forget the over the top cutscenes people hate, lets forget the MGS2 gameplay makes it easier. Is the story the same? Are there absolutely horrible script changes that makes part of the story different for example? I loved the original MGS1, and nothing will ever top it I think. However, playing it in 2020 is not good as it has not aged well. Also, I would rather not hook up my PS3 just for this one game, my Gamecube is already hooked up due to playing Mario Party games. I feel, as much as the games we loved in the 90s were amazing at the time, most of them did not age well and are really not good to play in 2020. For example, I loved Final Fantasy 8 when it came out. Played it all the time. I just could not get into it recently. People kept saying how amazing Final Fantasy 7 was and I never played it. I decided to play it, and I could not really get into it either. I kept thinking as I was playing both 7 and 8 was that X did this better. With this being said, and I know this is kind of going off topic of this discussion, how does Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2 hold up? I never played these games, and I believe these are also on the Backwards Compatibility for the Xbox One. [link] [comments]
Posted: 18 Apr 2020 03:44 PM PDT I have been playing stealth games for years, but I've heard people saying MGSV is more difficult than most stealth games and the stealth is more complex. If I'm a stealth game veteran would this game still be a challenge or would it just be really hard no matter what? [link] [comments]

What does it mean if I see somebody Fulton extracted at my mother base? Posted: 18 Apr 2020 03:04 PM PDT It's not a fob and I can attack other players now but what does it mean? Some guard just got extracted and I didn't see anybody over there when I checked. I started a mission so does that mean I'm being inflitrated and mother base? [link] [comments] |
