    MGSV Mission 3 A Heros Way Analysis

    You enter an old village surrounded by grape vines that no longer grow grapes because the Soviets have destroyed everything in order to retaliate against the Mujahedeen. You get tapes all about it after you do any mission after 2. The commander stresses the importance of not killing the people when they burn down the villages in some vague hope of making his actions not as bad, doesnt mean much if you're destroying their homes and food and forcibly moving them. Possibly reflecting on the player/Big Boss thinking they're good if they're non lethal when they go about helping the CIA back the Soviet-Afghan War and grow a for profit war business that takes contracts all around the world and also renditions prisoners to their off shore base to torture whenever and however they want.

    The plot twist in this mission is that the commander didnt kill anyone which is partially why you were hired to take him out. It's one of multiple times you have someone taking revenge on the wrong person. We later learn that Skull Face is the one burning down villages while also killing everyone in them without leaving a trace of a firefight somehow. Which is prolly meant to reflect on how Venom is being purposely pointed towards Skully as the target of his empty reveng quest. And how for the first 12 millions hes mistakenly thinking its target is Zero for blowing up Mother Base when it's actually Skull Face. And of course when Skully is out of the way Miller focuses on Huey and wants him dead for crimes he possibly did not commit. What do you do when there is no clear target of revenge when something tragic happens to you? Revenge bad is I guess the actual final point of the game, right? Maybe that's why Kojimas final word on Konami was being thankful for the opportunities they provided him. Along with that also being definitely the politically safe final word on that.

    When snake puts the gun to his mouth and the camera pans up and the gun goes off the game should've ended.

    Or at the very end of the credits (skippable so it can be missed) it has just the "no need for you to go just yet" as an audio thing then the game cuts to black for the last time and boots the main menu
