    How can people call MGS4 a mess and a bad game?

    For me it was the best closure to the series i could wish for. Almost every character got an ending, all questions have been answered, all mysteries unravelled, all dumb things from previous games became simple and logical. This game made me love all characters i used to dislike. Fight with Liquid Ocelot made me feel something i cannot describe. Reunion and final monologue of Big Boss was the best 27 minutes in any game i ever witnessed. And message was a cherry on top.

    It all was simply perfect. I cannot understand why this game is disliked so much by so many.

    edit: I see, most people talk about too long cutscenes. As long as they're better than most of the movies i don't see any problem with them. To be frank, it was my favorite part of the game, cutscenes and expositions in MGS4 were far more engaging than gameplay in some games.

    just got mgs3, and the copy came in perfect condition with the manual included. this is by far the coolest manual i have in my game collection.

    Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance was the first Metal Gear game I played, so when I first heard Armstrong's speech, I thought that Armstrong was just a critique of ultra-libertarian, powerful politicians. Now that I've finished Metal Gear Solid 2 tho, I can see that Armstrong's plan and character genuinely make sense in the Metal Gear universe too. He's a direct response, albeit an extremist one, to the ages of oppression and secrecy brought on by the Patriots, and I just appreciate and understand his character and his plan a lot more now that I have in-universe context. I'm not saying Armstrong was right, I absolutely am not lol, as Armstrong was absolutely and fundamentally wrong. I just think he's a very interesting character and a very interesting part of the Metal Gear universe, as well as a critique of a faulty political theory. He and the Patriots are like the two extreme, unacceptable sides to the issue, and Raiden's been caught between both sides. I just think it's all very interesting storytelling (also please no Metal Gear spoilers I've only played Revengeance and MGS2 but I'm excited to play the other games 😭)

    Hello. I am a PhD student in an information science program, writing a dissertation on comparing the individual differences between fandoms. For this purpose, I have created an exploratory survey designed to gather data on various fandoms. If you consent to this survey, you will be asked to identify your favorite franchise (In this case, Metal Gear Solid). Your answer will then be incorporated into the text of all the questions, thus making your version of the survey into one about the Metal Gear Solid fandom. It is hoped that this survey will eventually lead to a greater understanding of the individual differences between various fandoms.     Just realized that MGS1/TTS are the only MGS games were there are no eyepatches involved whatsoever...

    What is the best character to use in FOB missions in MGSV - Quiet or Snake?

    Pros for Quiet: She can consistently skip the very first platform of every fob mission using her speed and invisibility.

    She can instantly knock someone out.

    She can become invisible by not moving.

    She's fast as fuck.

    She can instantly climb a ladder.

    Pros for Snake: The big thing are the prosthetic arms. Can be used to consistently distract enemies and use the rocket arm to easily knock out several enemies in quick succession.

    Can use sneak suits.

    This is regarding sneaking and going stealth. What do you think?

    Jim Houseman's plan

    Am I the only one who thinks that his plan of wiping out Shadow Moses is rational and can actually be quite easily sympathized with? It's already been established that if the existence of REX became public it would be incredibly destabilizing, and Campbell mentions that Houseman is worried about FoxDie after Naomi modified it. Seems perfectly understandable to me that he wouldn't want to risk an unknown, deadly virus from escaping. And actually, that's exactly what happens by MGS4 when FoxDie mutates.

    Sure he comes across as a smarmy jerk but I don't really see him as much of a villain.

    I'm on the 29th/30th mission, and theres blood on snake that won't come off.

    Is this demon points? or is this a scripted part of the game?

    hey,

    i'm sorry if this has been asked already, but I wanted to download mods such as the S++ one which allows you to find S++ soldiers in SP instead of having to play FOBs, as well as the true big boss skin, infinte haven etc. Is there any chance I might get banned for using mods? I don't plan on playing MP, but I obviously need to be connected since most of the GMP are online

    by the way, I was wondering if TPP uses VAC, it doesn't say so on the steam store page but I read somewhere that some games do despite not showing it on steam.

    I just finished MGS1 and I really liked it even though there were a lot of plot points that weren't properly explained I didn't bother me very much.......except for one thing.

    In the last quarter of the game liquid (disguised as Master Miller) started planting the idea of Naomi being a spy which seemed to be true as she was arrested after sending coded messages to the Alaskan base.

    My confusion stems from the fact that liquid snitched on Naomi for literally no reason, He didn't anything from it so why did he do it ?, and since she was a spy that was working for them it means that it could do more harm than good for him. I have been thinking about this for a long while and didn't see anyone discussing this before.

    so I am asking you. Why did liquid snitch on Naomi ?

    Wall artwork of metal gear solid 1

    I'm desperately looking for a nice wall artwork or poster of Metal Gear Solid 1.

    That game represents a lot for me, and I would love to have a nice art of it in my apparemment. The ones I find are mostly for the other games, but I hardly find anything for the 1st one.

    If anyone has any links for a good one, I would be so grateful!
