    Should I really get a ps3 just for mgs4?

    I have an xbox 360, and mgs4 is pretty much the only exclusive for ps3 that I have any interest in. (even though my interest isn't necessarily because I think it will be good, more on this later) I don't need a blue ray player, and I don't know any other reason why I would want a ps3.

    Even further, I have kinda already spoiled myself on the rest of the mgs titles I haven't played, and from that I have assessed that every other mgs title has atleast an acceptable story, one that I didn't wish didn't exist for the sake of the overall series canon. I don't know everything about every plot point, but every single thing I've heard about mgs4's plot is terrible either in idea or execution. I've come to understand that basically the entire story is nonsense fanservice for the sake of fanservice. I don't like that big boss is still alive, I don't like that EVA is here for some reason, I hate the countless retcons, and worst of all imo, I hate that raiden is a cyborg. (I know people like this, but I abhor it, even if you absolutely can't handle an open ending for most characters in mgs2, which I think is by far an excellent end for the series, but you cannot argue that Raiden's story wasn't finished with it. Raiden threw away the dog tags, it was over, but let's throw it all away for the sake of having a cool cyborg woah.)

    I like the theory of the story being purposefully bad, sort of a postmodern example of why artists shouldn't be forced to process more of their work, but I'm not going to act like the story is good because it's bad, especially when that theory isn't confirmed 100% anyways. But if the theory is true then atleast that makes it easier to headcanon that the game's story doesn't exist, especially because I'm pretty sure it doesn't even have many reveals that impact any other game. I'm pretty sure this is the one that reveals zero founded the Patriots and that's pretty much it, right? Even then other games heavily imply it.

    I've even heard the gameplay was only good for 2 of the acts and then mediocre to bad for the rest. The cutscene to gameplay ratio has been called ridiculous and I honestly find anything more than 2's perfect balance a bit annoying to handle, so I'm sure I'd have fun with that.

    Should I really wait to play 5 after I play peace walker for this? What even does this reveal that 5 hinges on so that I would feel the need to play this at all? Don't be afraid to spoil me because I don't really care, and I already know I can play peace walker before this one.

    6 months ago, I posted my almost complete North American Release Collection of the Canonical MGS series. Today, Facebook reminded me that it was technically 5 years ago that I started the collection. I am proud to announce that it is finished, alongside two copies of the GBC game for good measure.

    Hey guys. I have a problem. I do not have any mods that are editing weapons, except "better Ironsight" mod, but when I have max lvl combat unit, it unlocks this wormhole generating mine. But when I try to find it in Development, it crashes the game. When I level my Combat unit down, it works fine..
