Konami's first properly budgeted single player game since MGSV Posted: 26 Sep 2020 03:36 PM PDT Okay, well, it seems Konami isn't quite as done with console gaming as many of us thought, myself included. They're now producing an action RPG game connected to this anime series called "Eden Zero." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uy_RY-9vB_A There's a reason I post this despite EZ having fuck all to do with MGS. See, my assumption was that Konami was basically done with console games. It's been five years since V for Vector-Man II released (hey how about that), and since then, Konami hasn't released a single budgeted single player game. Everything has either been more PES (no PES this year), non-budget games that aren't even sold for full price, relatively cheap multiplayer games and a fuckton of mobile games where the one mobile game people genuinely liked because it had some quality content (Castlevania: Grimoire) got shut down this year. Prior to 2015, Konami had reliably pumped out at least one proper single player game with a modest budget behind it per year. Not a single game like that has released since V and the fallout between them and Kojimbo Wimbo. And with the recent news that they ditched the Fox Engine in favor of UE5, that only made it seem like they were kinda just done with shit. But maybe not. I don't know the first thing about EZ or give a fuck about this game in particular, but it looks like an actual video game for once. And that is cause to be at least somewhat optimistic that maybe, juuuuuust maybe, Konami isn't closing up shop on console gaming after all. What that means for Metal Gear, hell if I know. But now, we know that these guys are still making actual single player games, and that is some legit good news. [link] [comments]

Generic question i know... but curiosity struck me Posted: 26 Sep 2020 10:31 AM PDT What MGS game impacted you most.. made you angry, sad, laugh, cry or anything in between from games 1 - 4 Personally for me it was the incredible journey that was MGS 3.. and the sec WAY TO FALL started playing in the credits by starsailer i had full on man tears 😢, share your moment [link] [comments]
Posted: 26 Sep 2020 02:46 PM PDT So, since MGS2 Substance is now available again on the PC and with V's Patch as well, which version is the best way to play? I have both the PS2 version and the HD Collection version but never the PC version, and emulation is hell for MGS2. With V's patch, would MGS2 Substance be the superior version? Substance also has the Snakeboarding game for extra points. [link] [comments]

Posted: 26 Sep 2020 10:38 AM PDT But can't we make mission 51 ourselves as a mod? There are so many fans here, there HAS to be a good percentage of those who could actually make this happen if we can all work together. I'm not talking exactly as it is in the concept art, it could take place in a part of the Africa map. We could say all the traps (mentioned in the concept art) have been removed by the support team, add dead XOF bodies and stuff. The part where all Diamond Dogs help in the mission can be done by splitting it into smaller segments, like one where they drop off a 4 wheel drive for us to chase Eli or something, another where we use a tank to take down XOF gunships, or another which is just a stealth infiltration part with our current best Combat unit soldier acting as another Snake, carrying out very basic commands, like attack, distract, cover fire etc. Keep the Sahelanthropus fight similar with just the twist that it's in Africa now instead of Afghanistan. The cutscenes could be done Peace Walker style or SFM with just sfx and stylised dialogues or just literally use the stuff we already have. So, just how possible do guys think this could be. I'm aware not very, but I'd like to believe it's not impossible? [link] [comments] |
