METAL GEAR SOLID Thanks Kojima |
- Thanks Kojima
- So I got MGS2 for PC and was missing textures. Fixed it but this was too good to pass up.
- Thoughts?
- I'll never beat Volgin - and I'm ok with that
- I'm still in a dream...
- Nearly got them all!
- A Yoji Shinkawa Artwork From Metal Gear Solid 2 Artbook
- Okay, just need to download this real quick and I'll be in for a wild ride (at least from what I've heard) Also is it better to play this game with a controller or a mouse and keyboard?
- After 12 years i got to play this game and beat it. Truly a masterpiece (dont understand the hate it got)
- Me once I lose the quarantine weight
- Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain gave me a Phantom Pain!
- Worth getting PS3 Gold Headset for surround sound vs. normal stereo headsets connected via RCA output?
- I know is a small collection, but i wanted to share it anyway.
- Quite possibly the most obscure Metal Gear game ever officially released
- How in hell did Naked Snake survive Volgin's torture?
- What MGS game gives you the highest level of satisfaction when sneaking around undetected? For me personally, I choose MGS4 Gotp, what about you fellow staff members?
- Whatever happened to the proposed MGS movie?
- [Fan-Made] Trailer of MGS V: The Phantom Pain (Just something I made during my spare time :3 and yes I know..)
- MGSV is my first Metal Gear game ever (picked it up during the last ps4 sale), little Kaz tribute
- Need help on MGSV
- What’s your opinion on Roy Campbell?

I'll never beat Volgin - and I'm ok with that Posted: 03 Jun 2020 09:45 AM PDT All my life, I've struggled with dyspraxia. There's many ways to describe the condition but for me, it's a slight delay between my thoughts and actions and the resulting lack of coordination. I forget things a lot, lose things a lot and I've injured myself attempting mundane tasks more times than you want to know. However, I've never let it stop me trying. I have tried to learn to drive. Tried and failed many times for over 20 years. Maybe it's just as well as I might not be safe on the road. I have tried to get good at carpentry, DIY, fixing and making and I get by pretty damn well on that front now as long as it's not too complex. I figured a practical job wasn't for me so I managed to find a line of work suited to what few skills I do have and calibrated my life around that to allow me to raise my children as a working single father. However, the one thing I've always wanted to do and never, ever gotten close to, is defeating Volgin in Metal Gear Solid 3. And my goodness, how I have tried. The story begins in 2007 when my friend moved to Australia and left me his PS2. I was always Nintendo focused and had won an Xbox in a competition so that let me complete the grand slam of consoles from that generation - GameCube, OG Xbox and PS2. I had played MGS2 on the Xbox and loved it. The music, setting, atmosphere and the style of the game were like nothing I'd ever played before. My lack of coordination means I had little to no gaming skills so my game library has always been curated to reflect that - let's just say I've never owned a Ninja Gaiden! - and as I had little difficulty with MGS2 I was excited to go out and get a copy of MGS3. Wow. Metal Gear Solid 3. God, I loved that game. Playing on very easy, I was able to enjoy the weird and wonderful characters and story and progress through the game with no real difficulty until I crossed paths with the Fury(I'd been told about the trick to defeat The End). It took me around 10 tries to beat him and when I did I was pretty pleased with myself and looked forward to completing the game. Then came Volgin. Holy fuck. I was absolutely losing it by the twentieth attempt. Furious at my utter lack of skill, I shut the game off in despair. Over the next few weeks I tried again and again and again until I realised I'd never beat MGS3. A few months later I sold my consoles to fund a move, upgraded to an Xbox360 and put it all behind me. But it always bothered me. Over the years I watched videos of people beating him whilst taking barely any damage. I was reminded I could have bought a cheat disk to help on the PS2 and I also managed to easily beat bosses in other games. So in 2012 I bought the 360 HD remake of Snake Eater. I played through the game, struggled past The Fury and when it came time to fight Volgin I was super confident! Nope. A week or so of trying, googling tips and trying every last combination afforded to me by the online world I just failed miserably. Crestfallen, I abandoned all hope. Until this week, when in a pique of lockdown boredom I decided this was finally my time. I had successfully cleared both recent Resident Evil remakes and beaten each boss the game had thrown at me. Surely, SURELY I can finally dispose of Volgin. So I download the MGS double pack from Xbox game pass, sail through the familiar game world, sigh in frustration as I take 5 attempts to beat the fucking Fury one last time and proceed to my destiny. 18 attempts on day 1. 18 on day 2. 21 last night. Glowing mushrooms. Frogs. RPGs. Cig gas. Knives. EVERYTHING. But I can't even get him to the second stage of the fight. The usual struggle to dodge, the mistimed firing of the TNT, the complete failure of my attempts to use hand to hand combat. Remember, this on VERY EASY. Man, I suck. Well, enough is enough. For whatever reason, my reactions will never adapt to what it takes to beat Volgin. It's far from the only game I've had to abandon due to a boss I find impossible but up until today it was the only one that bothered me. But today, after rage quitting Metal Gear Solid 3 for the last time, I've finally moved on. A great game it might be - but, well, it is only a game! May all your boss battles be tough but fair! Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain gave me a Phantom Pain! Posted: 03 Jun 2020 12:37 PM PDT So I just finished MGS V: TPP a few days back, and I still can't get it out of my mind. I have never played any other game in the series except for MGS V: GZ . I had watched the cutscenes of MGS: 3 Solid Snake and Peace Walker on YouTube earlier to understand the story better, I really did not expect to end up getting this much attached to the game. That funeral scene, the scene in which quiet dances in the rain and the last scene with quiet made me so damn emotional, I finished the mission then started Mission 46, And damn! It just blew me away! I never saw it coming, My mind still can't process the information that we were someone else all this time and not Big Boss, even after spending 130 hours in the game it left me wanting for more, I am feeling empty from the inside ever since, so any suggestions would be appreciated, Should I try the other games in the series out? If yes then how? (I don't really have a console) Are they as good as Phantom Pain? Also is Metal Gear: Survive worth buying if you are in for the story? Thanks for reading all through this shit [link] [comments]
Posted: 03 Jun 2020 03:23 PM PDT I'm currently using headphones using the RCA output to get in-game audio. Virtual surround seems to be working (tested with MGS3 HD that I got recently). I was just wondering if the PS3 Gold is really worth it or if the results would be similar? Cheers [link] [comments]

How in hell did Naked Snake survive Volgin's torture? Posted: 03 Jun 2020 08:31 AM PDT Seriously, holy heck. Replaying MGS3 and my guy gets punched out several times, knocked headfirst down, electrocuted excessively, shot in the leg by The Boss only to have his eye also literally shot out shortly afterward. He's a beast. [link] [comments]
Posted: 03 Jun 2020 10:19 AM PDT I chose 4 because whether if I'm sneaking through a War zone, Prague or Shadow Moses I always feel extremely satisfied passing an area undetected only using stealth. MGS3 and MGSV come in at 2nd place (but it's a close 2nd place) [link] [comments]
Whatever happened to the proposed MGS movie? Posted: 03 Jun 2020 04:10 PM PDT Seems that leading up the reveal of Death Stranding there was massive talk of the MGS movie being a real thing and happening... then came the reveal of DS and now... nothing. All those supposed actors that were working with Kojima, some of the legendary voice actors and celebrities -- it seems to have really quieted down and now nothing. What gives? Is the MGS movie locked by Konami -- but Sony talked about buying the rights too. Just seems odd we hear nothing about it anymore. [link] [comments]

Posted: 03 Jun 2020 01:28 PM PDT So I'm up to mission 41 and I can't progress. All I have to do are the repeat missions like the (extreme) and (total stealth) missions which I don't particularly want to do as they are just the same missions again and I want to move on with the main game. I don't have any yellow main missions or side ops left what do I do? I do however have a yellow combat deployment mission, called "crush the drug cartel" I've had this mission for a while but I haven't been able to complete it because it says I don't have any tanks. But I do have tanks I have at least one of each type, yet I can't deploy. Is this combat deployment the thing that is stopping me continuing?? Any help would be appreciated. [link] [comments]
