    Ok so I just replayed MGS2, (a childhood favorite of mine) and I don't know what to believe anymore. This video game from almost 20 years ago has so much relevance for today. The media, news outlets, and even I would rather believe convenient half-truths than believe the actual truth. And on top of that, it discusses how free will is basically a myth and everyone adopts our "Memes" (personality traits and mannerisms) from other people and things. We don't even think for ourselves. Freedom and life as I know it is a lie. I don't know what to do, I want off this ride

    Irc, AIM, ICQ, chatrooms, limewire, blogs and forums existed. And the usenet. Facebook, twitter and all were the direct counter to THAT, they are the 'creating context' he was talking about. For a decade before Facebook went public they have been talking about the death of old media and how they could counter it. That's why he was talking about it, because the media and the elites had been talking about how to do that five years before MGS2 came out.

    Figure out why Facebook and Twitter all have algorithms to control your timeline to what they want you to see, even if you try to set it to "show in order", you can't scroll through without it reloading and resetting to the automatic ordering of posts, and you can't change that setting to 'show all, newest first' permanently.

    Sons of Liberty is absolutely fantastic as a game and is one of 2 things primarily responsible for my red pilling.
    MGS2 was the first thing to get through to me that made me think that politics, media, etc. is just a show and the real decisions are made in a dark smokey room filled with men who's names you will never know. Explains proxy wars, secret defense money going into secret projects to branches of the government that the government doesn't control fully itself. Presidents are just puppets, etc. I didn't fully understand all of it at the time but the important part is it introduced me to the ideas. A few years later it all started making sense when I got political and I had a holy shit Kojima redpilled me and I didn't even realize it at the time moment.
    The other part of my redpilling was my Opa fought in the Volkssturm as a child, but that doesn't help most people. Kojima does.

    Finally went around and S ranked all difficulties for the Japanese version of rising. Unfortunately I don’t have the DLC stories for the JPN version so I only earned the master of thunder title for raiden.

    My Head Cannon for Ocelot’s Goals in Ever Game (SPOILERS!!)

    Ocelot is easily the character whose emotions are hardest to understand in MGS. What his goals are in each game is always a bit of a mystery. So I've decided to pull together what I think is the best theory for each game. Note: some of this is canon already.

    MGS3: -Humiliate (but not kill) Naked Snake since he beat him in the virtuous mission. Help naked Snake succeed in his mission. Get the philosophers legacy but keep half for himself.

    MGSV: -Help Venom build diamond dogs and destroy skull face.

    MGS1: -Exploit FOXHOUND to get the Rex data so that the Patriots can be destabilized worldwide while also preventing the actual launch. Currently considers Solidus an Ally.

    MGS2: -Help the Patriots succeed in the S3 plan to gain their trust. Use the worm cluster to lock down GW. (In my head cannon the Patriots meant to only put GW to sleep so it couldn't be used against them by Solidus, then reassemble it later after Ocelot retrieves it). Instead Ocelot steals GW to use it to later hack the Patriots (liquid is a smokescreen). However before he can use GW to hack JD the liquid personality takes over his mind for real.

    MGS4: -Ocelot is now liquid, he forgets all of Ocelors memories of the Patriots and tries to kill Snake and gain control of the system. However, when the Patriots are destroyed for real, Ocelot reawakens and, believing his goal to end the computer age is successful, fights Snake one last time, losses and dies of Foxdie.
