Kudos to the Metal Gear Sound Team Posted: 04 Mar 2020 05:48 AM PST Main games or spin offs, they always did a stellar jobs, no matter the game. Pic any MG game, and none of them have a bad soundtrack or bad sound designs. [link] [comments]
Why is there always a dude in every MG game who says "Not yet! It's not over yet!" ? Posted: 04 Mar 2020 05:54 AM PST Like really, since MGS1 where Liquid Said it, there's always this quote or a variation of it in every games. is it the same in the japanese dub or is this some kind of weird inside joke from Kris Zimmerman since she overseeing the english dub of all the MG games since MGS1? Question relating to the end of MGSV:TPP... Posted: 04 Mar 2020 03:15 PM PST When Venom Snake learned he was a phantom, did he keep it a secret or tell his soldiers? [link] [comments]
Something funny about Zero and the Snakes Posted: 04 Mar 2020 06:56 AM PST He tried to give some of his legacy to Solid snake and Liquid. In a weird way. He named Solid David. Zero's real name is David Oh. He made Liquid Snake British, since Liquid lived most of his childhood in England before leaving in Africa. Both Liquid and Zero also joined the SAS. Guys, I seriously need help for capturing last 3 animals Posted: 04 Mar 2020 04:44 PM PST I'm at 44 animals on 47. Already done everything. Missing only this trophy for the platinum. But I noticed these 3 missing animals are from side ops I've already done. How do I replay side ops to get these animals? Side ops 48, 49 and 50. If I try to press it, it says I've already completed it. [link] [comments]

Replaying MGS2 - just noticed something, bear with me, it's a long one [spoilers duh] Posted: 04 Mar 2020 04:00 PM PST I've heard quite a lot of opinions complaining about MGS4 and it's explanation as to who the Patriots are and the whole contrived story. That it's a stretch and something that does not make sense in the context of the supporting cast in MGS3 as they didn't really strike anyone as a bunch with a potential to become an evil shadow government. Well, "La-Li-Lu-La-Lo" appears in the Tanker mission in MGS2 and in MGS3 "who are the Patriots" and "La-Li-Lu-La-Lo" are the password and answer given to Snake by Major Zero for meeting with Adam. I'm not saying that the whole series story makes complete sense, especially with all the retcons, but I think the writers even back in the day had a solid idea what they were doing and to that extent MGS3 for the most part gives us all the answers. Zero and the rest get their hands of the Philosophers cash and form a secret organization to control the world (with great ideals) that eventually becomes twisted and is run by AI, Big Boss becomes disillusioned and bitter and tries to realize the Boss's vision, but just as Zero he looses his way and becomes a bad guy and then Solid Snake and Raiden eventually manage to foil them. That is what I take out of the series. I have not played MGS4, but I watched so much stuff about it that I have quite a good idea of what is there and as far as MGS5 goes, I can't force myself to play through the second act and also it's been spoiled to hell, so I don't really feel like it. MGS5 is probably the best game when it comes to gameplay and controls especially, but MGS4 seems packed full of fan service which makes not sense at times and MGS5 is even worse. What strikes me is that we had 4 games dedicated to explaining how Big Boss became a bad guy and people still aren't satisfied, while I think a more interesting story would be how Zero became a bad guy. I think the answer is simple - power combined with a vision corrupts and makes values go out the window without a person even noticing it and it was hinted at heavily even before Snake Eater. I'm not sure if it's the fans or Kojima, but I feel like the whole need to explain everything and make everything clear overshadowed what the series was originally about and kind of ruined it. I mean, playing MGS5 feels a lot like picking up the scraps of what was meant to be, rather than playing Kojima's magnum opus. I'm kind of more comfortable with considering MGS1 and MGS2 cannon, MGS3 being a great spinoff that expands the story, MG1 and MG2 being maybe a distorted account of the protagonists' backstory (cause Patriots AI and controlling information) and the rest being just fan-fiction. If anything, as much as MGS5 plays way better than any other game in the series, just out of pure quality of life improvements, maybe a remaster of MGS1, 2 and 3 with that gameplay mechanics would be the definitive edition (sort of like Resident Evil 2 remastered), but at the same time, I find MGS5 being very poor in stealth terms - a sniper rifle and a heavy MG produce the best results and I always felt like having to force myself to be stealthy just for the sake of it. One other thing that comes to my mind - Kojima is considered a genius, but all in all I think most of the stuff he puts out there is basically just borrowed, if not down right stolen. MGS takes stuff from Rambo, Escape from New York (Iroquois Pliskin? seriously?), Tom Clancy and a ton of other Hollywood shit (if MGS series was a movie, plagiarism lawsuits would be thrown left and right). But hold that 'borrowed/inspired' thought! Well, since I'm re-reading the whole Dune series again, I'll risk saying that Hideo-San may have taken inspiration from a lot of the concepts Frank Herbert put out there. Or maybe not and all you need is just you do some basic thinking to realize that great heroes eventually become villains or are not heroes at all when you are on the receiving end of their forcefully applied ideology? Posted: 04 Mar 2020 06:53 AM PST Not sure if this has been posted before. I was looking for a metal version of the A Team theme...and came across this vid edited to the Season 5 theme. [link] [comments]
Posted: 04 Mar 2020 05:39 AM PST I was bouncing ideas for plot points with a buddy and came to this, I guess, revelation? Vocals chord parasites attack the user based on the language of their speech and the Patriots made use of Nanomachines which among other stuff, prevented the host from saying "The Patriots". I feel like there's a plot point here somewhere, perhaps lost on the cutting room floor? It may have made more sense if Skullface was actually Major Zero I guess. [link] [comments]
