Hello, I'll try to keep it short

My mother was recently diagnosed with advanced stage Fuchs' Dystrophy. She must have a cornea transplant ASAP or the complications and loss of sight might get worse.Symptoms like blurriness, pain and discomfort have been showing for some time, but never with a diagnostic. I don't really know if it was for medical "negligence", but she really overlooked her health since my grandpa had a stroke 4 years ago and needed care 24/7.

I'm trying to help them, either with the money to have the transplant (about $9500 in local currency) or paying a nurse to take care of my grandpa at home (about $1000/month). So i thought about selling my MGS collection to raise some part of that money.

I took some pics of it, you can see them all here https://imgur.com/gallery/snpwH9n

If they ever make a metal gear solid film series..

    Posted: 24 Feb 2020 03:54 PM PST

James Bond films never have 007 or his name within the title, normally they title the films based of the characters or themes within the context of the narrative e.g Dr.No as in the main villain.

So for MGS they could title the films based off the context. So:

    Snake eater

    Peace walker

    The Phantom pain

    Outer Heaven

    Zanzibar land

    The twin snakes

    Sons of Liberty

    Guns of the patriots

Something like that. This is just more or less some sense of hype for a film series and how they would go about it and make it palatable to a film audience.

[MGS5 SPOILERS] I may be way late on this but doesnt this perfectly explain the ending from the man himself....

    Posted: 24 Feb 2020 12:19 PM PST

So ive just started my 2nd playthrough of mgs5 after a few years hiatus and found this quote from Kojima relating to how the game controversially wraps up. From this article:

    https://www.eteknix.com/kojima-calls-mgsv-ending-blank-space-wont-filled/

Since the release of MGSV, rumours have pointed the finger at publisher Konami, blaming the company for forcing the game out before it was completed, supposedly evidenced by the excised Chapter 3 material. But, in the Japanese novelisation of the game, creator Hideo Kojima has not only taken responsibility for the "blank space" left by the game's ending, but has revealed that it was intentional; a metaphor for the end of the series, and the absence of its hero.

In a translation courtesy of redditor _notanything_, Kojima wrote in the Phantom Pain novelisation:

"Metal Gear was born as a game in 1987. From there 28 years, within me the circle of the Metal Gear story has been closed with the latest release "MGSV". A respected author, Dennis Lehane with the popular series "Patrick Kenzie & Angela Gennaro" declared that at the peak of his popularity "No matter what kind of series it is, there is a time that it must end", and he himself closed the curtain. No matter how popular a series is, someday the end will come. However, that is by no means a parting. Even if you can't touch it, you can feel the influence of that story. A story is a thing without shape. Assuming physically nothing is there, nothing to be lost. As long as stories and legends are desired, they will continue forever. The brilliance will never vanish. It's in everyone's heart. It is not always true that saying "goodbye to a hero" ignites a phantom pain. By saying "goodbye to a hero", you can for eternity leave behind lost joy as a blank space."
"In MGSV, we hand the story (the legend) over to the player. That's how the player becomes the Big Boss in the MSX2 Metal Gear. You play the game as you will, raise up your Mother Base. That's the way I want the player to create his own story, thinking of things like "war" and "peace" as Big Boss. Up until now, the Metal Gear Saga was told by creating video games, but I want each player to think and come up with their own story (legend) on their own."
"There is a blank space, but it will not be filled. In that blank space there is always a hero. Because there is a blank space, you can advance ahead. It is this blank space exactly that is "V"."

For me this is a satisfying explanation that shows that Kojima is still ready to take a risk on his games with how a message is presented. Coming from the same creators that made MGS2 which sacrifices the whole concept of a straight forward sequel to tell an almost profound meta message, this seems perfectly in character.

The final tape from BB to Venom is essentially directed at us the player, we can be Big Boss and forge a legend, and so we are meant to wrap this story up, we already know hat eventually happens but with this Kojima is directly putting the narrative in the player hands.

Hopefully im not just repeating what many of said I just it very interesting.

I found flying t-pose guy in TPP is this an easter egg, or just a glitch? He goes invisible with no night vision and appears when you turn them on.

On ps4, i re bought the game yesterday and wanted to a sort of 'naked run'. See how well i could do in each mission while doing things more efficiently than the first time

Do i make a new profile? Any advice would be great!

Hello Metal Gear Fans I am here to ask a question.

    Posted: 24 Feb 2020 02:54 PM PST

Currently I am planning on making a MGS3 remake with some additional content (Which is another game/fan sequel to the previous one that takes place during the Vietnam War (1967-1970) with Snake being in it). Though, it will probably not have the same game mechanics as MGSV, but you will get the opportunity to have conversations with NPCs, where you have multiple dialog options like any Role Playing Game would have. With the additional content there will be more of the optional dialog. Similar to Skyrim or other Bethesda's RPGs but will have a little more to it. It will most likely be on PC and Android. The console ports will be unknown. It will be made through Unreal Engine 4 and Unity Engine (For Android). SO, the question is, that would it be really okay to release this ideal content? I've heard that people who have tried remaking MG1 and MGS1 ended up ceasing the project. However, I found out that another fan is remaking MGS1 through the Dreams Engine and Konami didn't even bother contacting that guy yet. But Kojima himself praised the guy. Unfortunately the Dreams Engine will exclusively be on PS4. (I have this extremely old PS4 from 2013). If I release this, will Konami bother me as well or will just leave me alone?
