    Beat MGS4 Today

    Just wanted to say what a wild ride it has been so far for a first timer. I'm going through the whole series in release order. I did not have a ps3, so I borrowed my cousin's in order to play this one game. Before that I originally gave up on hope of playing this exclusive game and played through half of peacewalker before mgs4. But I'm glad I went back to beat this game. This game had so many cool references and fan service to this long running series. I was smiling from ear to ear with the final boss fight. After a small break I will go back to peace walker and continue through this mgs marathon

    After finishing MGS:2 and now MGS:3 I can honestly say that they are one of the best games in gaming history! Right now I can't choose which one I liked the most, since both of them are very very well done. Very good stories, very good soundtracks, very good gameplay & visuals and the list goes on!

    Real shame that MGS:3 is more or less the last good MGS game before the franchise started going downhill overall due to Tomokazu Fukushima's departure (he was one of the main story writers for the games up to that point if you're not aware) and Kojima being tired of working on the same type of games for decades. But oh well, it was eventually deemed to happen some time anyway. But it will always be better than having no new games come out at all.

    So I've heard some things about this game but I am curious what people of this sub have to say. I have played ever single console MG and MGS game besides Survive. Is this game worth playing for the story and/or gameplay? The bad reviews i have heard were from random people at gamestop which probably never even enjoyed the series to start with.

    What are your thought without spoiling too much. I appreciate any and all feedback.

    Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake Appreciation

    Does this game get enough love around here? For being released many years before Metal Gear Solid, this game holds up as one of the best in the series.

    With MGS being completely based off this game it's no wonder why this game was overlooked being solely manufactured for the MSX. If this were a SNES release, this game would've been huge (At least I think).

    Game was a little before it's time, with MGS perfecting upon the 3d graphics and dialogue cutscenes. But this was the blueprint for that greatness 5+ years earlier. You can tell they were pushing the boundaries within the processor of a 16 bit CPU.

    Any praise for this awesome release out there, or maybe criticisms? I'd love to hear em.

    Casting Snakes in the MGS movie.

    Since there's not much news about the MGS movie, I was curious as to how you guys would like to see casting of every Snake handled. I'd say they should cast the same actor for every Snake. Maybe a different actor for Solidus or old Big Boss. But as for the young versions I'd like to the same actor with different hairstyles and makeup. As for my fancast, I'd like to see the Snakes played by either Henry Cavill or Oscar Isaac. So would you guys like different actors for each Snake or the same? Also, who'd you cast?

    Edit: Tom Hardy could also be a good Snake.

    Okay so I haven't beaten the game so if this is eventually revealed just tell me to shut up and keep playing but my question is.

    Is Ishmael real? "Who am I? You're talking to yourself, you can call me Ishmael"

    I've just always gotten the feeling that he is kinda like a hallucination, like Snake years of training anthropomorphised into a man with bandages covering his face. Especially because when Snake wakes up in the crashed ambulance he is gone, and we never see him again. Again though if this awnser lies somewhere deeper in the game past where I have gotten just tell me to shut up, dont spoil it for me.

    Hello, i could use sime help. I just beat ocelot and am told to contact meryl. However, my codec numbers stay at 000 when i try to get to her frequency. I have exited the area with jamming and it still does it. What can i do to resolve this?

    Edit: forgot to mention. Im playing on pcsx, a ps1 emulator on pc
