Beating MGS1 for the first time. Wanted to share my feelings.

    Posted: 09 Nov 2019 10:35 AM PST

A few days ago, my friend told me to start the metal gear solid series since he had just finished it and said it was the greatest thing he has ever played. So I started MGS. I went in blind. I've never fully beat a PlayStation 1 game before so I thought to myself "How will this hold up to games now?". A few hours in. I'm hooked. I absolutely love this game. The twist and turns and it's voice acting. It doesn't feel like it's age slowed it down one bit. I'm nearing the end of MGS1 now and bought the HD collection to play 2 and such. It's bittersweet. This game has become one of the greatest games I've ever played and I don't want to leave it. If you are thinking about playing mgs. Do it. Believe me when I say ignore that this game is on the ps1 because as soon as you get into it. You won't notice. It is a beautiful gem that will never be forgotten.

Edit: The journey of MGS1 is complete. Time to move on to MGS2

[SPOILERS] 4 years on, how do you feel about MGSV: The Phantom Pain's twist ending? Like or dislike it?

    Posted: 09 Nov 2019 02:14 PM PST

It's been 4 years since TPP was released. So I wanted to ask - how do you feel about the reveal?

Did it enhance or degrade your appreciation of the game and the story?

Do you like Venom Snake, or do you feel he is simply a pale imitation of Big Boss?

Did it catch you by surprise, or did you see it coming?

    Did it work for you?

I've heard both responses to the twist from different people, and I'm interested in hearing some more takes on the twist. Fire away.

i have this game for 2 years now,and i put it in and try to play and just can't get into it,the weird thing is i really really enjoy Ground Zeroes,i think it is amazing, level design is fantastic, and missions were really good, but can't feel the same about phantom pain. how do you guys play it,any tips? I'm not saying it's a bad game, I'm saying i can't find the right way to play it, because i really enjoyed ground zeroes, the same play style is not working here

The Twin Snakes is better than MGS1

    Posted: 09 Nov 2019 02:30 PM PST

It basically improved upon everythjng MGS1 had problems with (major graphical upgrade, camera, not having a tranq, and most importantly the controls)

The controls, movement, mechanics are supposed to be the same as MGS2 but I recently played both games again and I can tell you that TTS feels a lot smoother— like it's TTP, on fox engine.

The downsides were the music and some of the over the top cutscenes. But that's all. I think this game deserves more love and it would be revered if it were available on PS2 and PC
