    Unpopular Opinion: MGS4 is a masterpiece and by far the greatest game in the series

    Edit: I love all the games and will be up voting all comments even if you disagree with me about mgs4, I love this community and the discourse we can have with each other. Still editing, huh? A HIND D. Still quoting, huh?

    Granted, you do have to play the games chronologically up to this point and you can skip Peace Walker (edit: someone notified me PW came out after MGS4, I was mistaken and was thinking of Portable Ops). I understand the gripes people have but to me, this game is Kojima's magnum opus.

    The game is full of emotion and is a cinematic triumph. It pulls together the previous 3 games and puts a nice bow on it.

    Becoming old snake... Seeing him fight ocelet one last time.. Watching our friends like Raiden return and seeing the character development of literally everyone in the series. This game is amazing it is fantastic.

    Think of anyone - Meryl for example- and think about how much she changed and how much she developed since the first time we saw her. VAMP too! Remember that insane fight with the metal gear and Raiden fighting VAMP on the split screen? Just talking about it makes me fondly miss it.

    There is not a single bad game in the series but not just that, even my least favorite game in the series is 9/10. But not just mainline games even spin offs are great individual games. Every game feels like a masterpiece.

    Afcourse this isnt fact just my opinion. And i just wanted to post it because goddamn it this series is pretty fuckin good (amazing ).

    Just beat the entire Main Story Series! Want to put together a PowerPoint

    Hello!

    I just recently beat the Metal Gear series Including: MG1, MGS1, MGS2, MGS3, MGS4, PW, GZ, MGSV. I absolutely loved the story and tried to explain it to my friends, but they want me to do a lecture style PowerPoint story to go over the story. Are there any must have memes or plot points you guys would put into it? I'm just trying to get ideas and make sure I don't forget anything funny or important. I'm not going super in depth, just the main plot points and maybe some side stories. Thanks everyone!

    Twin Snakes Theory

    I have seen a lot of people refer to the theory that Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes was the VR Mission that Raiden experienced during his training, and I always felt it lacking, since in Sons of Liberty they overlay footage of MGS: Integral VR missions over Raiden when he mentions his VR Missions. Instead I began look at TTS from a different angle.

    The cutscenes in TTS were not directed by Hideo Kojima, instead he wanted Movie Director, Ryuhei Kitamura, to direct the cinematography of the game. This could chalked up to Kojima's love of film and his desire for TTS to not be a shot-for-shot remake of MGS. However in the early 2000's, there was a growing trend in the Film Making Industry.

    Film adaptations of novels. In the MGS universe, Weapons Support analyst from the Shadow Moses incident, Natasha Romanenko, wrote a book detailing the events of MGS. Released in 2005 and becoming a Best Seller the same year, it would be shoe-in for a Hollywood Adaptation. With Big Blockbuster effects and over the top Action.

    TLDR: Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes is the in-universe movie adaptation of the in-universe book "In the Darkness of Shadow Moses: The Unofficial Truth".

    We only get 4, 4 battle buddies.

    two of them are straight up just vehicles with more utility than those you get on the field, one of them is a portable radar that tases people, and the last is a Sniper that quickscopes filthy Russian mic spammers or Kikongos on Afghanistan and African servers respectively.

    There should've been more, why can't I bring one of my Diamond dogs as a battle buddy ? Why isn't Revolver Ocelot a battle buddy ? Have you seen that guy's fucking revolver spins ? Imagine trying to raise Ocelot's bond level by spinning your Tornado 6 around, or complimenting your Diamond dog's cqc in the field even though you know deep down if it wasn't for your ass running around tranqing, rocket punching and fultoning everyone both of you would be dead.

    Imagine fucking MILLER as a battle buddy using an electronic wheelchair as a ramming vehicle and you can customize it to have an attachable dozer blade on the front and giving the enemy remorse for shooting a crippled ?

    So much potential man. . . .

    Phantom Pain relevance

    I know that Phantom Pains is really a good game. I like it's gameplay and graphics. But does anyone else agree with me that it is not relevant for the metal gear franchise?

    Its plot is so bad and bad connected with all others that it could even not exist without any problem.

    I never got into that vocal parasite stuff. In my opinion kojima had an idea for another game and then he was forced to make another metal gear.

    The game is so disconnected from the metal gear world that it could had other name. It is more a pre death stranding test than a metal gear.

    Do you agree?
