Hot take: Twin Snakes is actually good Posted: 20 Aug 2021 02:06 PM PDT Here's my unpopular opinion, Twin Snakes is a good game. It has much better visuals, better audio, and smoother gameplay. The cutscenes are a bit over-the-top, but that was intentional on the part of Kojima's involvement because he directly told the cutscene director for the game to make them action-heavy. The original plan was to make one-to-one recreations of the original cutscenes but Kojima decided to encourage something different. Therefore, the argument that the game doesn't respect the "vision" that Kojima had for the original doesn't really work here when Kojima himself wanted the game to be over the top. And finally, the controversial first-person mechanic. Yes, it breaks the game when it's used because the level design wasn't built around it. However, there's nothing stopping you from not using it!!! I'm sick of people mentioning this because it's the player's fault for deciding to use it in the first place.
