Personally, like most people I assume, I love both Liquid and Ocelot from the first game. Both were decently fleshed out characters for that particular generation of gaming. Ocelot from mgs3 is hands down my favourite character and it was a treat to see Eli in mgs5. Whereas Troy Baker's Ocelot, though cool in design, just didn't quite fit the bill. Being such a fan of both, I found that the whole liquid ocelot situation, regardless of why he did it, cheapens both of their characters. This might be an unpopular opinion so definitely downvote if you disagree strongly. But it was almost like Ocelot didn't even exist, I can see the irony in that, and at the same time, situations in which Liquid Ocelot interacts with snake does a disservice to Liquid also. If they had just left Ocelot as is for mgs2 onward, I feel there would have been no real change in the story as a whole. But that's just my thoughts which have lately been bugging me since starting mgs2 again. Feel free to voice your thoughts

TL;DR Liquid Ocelot is a bad concept and it ruins both characters for me to a degree.
