Converting Metal Gear Solid Series to movies less than 2 hours in length

    Posted: 17 May 2021 11:55 AM PDT

If you hadn't noticed my posts on reddit lately, I have been converting each entry of the Metal Gear Solid series in to a movie. The movies are NOT a compilation of all cut scenes extending over 10+ hours like those scattered online. They are more of a proper seamless mix of both game play and story without any paradox between all games and with proper pacing. Moreover, all movies are of a normal movie length near the 2 hours mark and less.

If you haven't checked the project progress so far, here are all the MGS movies in one post:
    MGS1 Ultimate Movie Cut: https://youtu.be/mYHpksTUucw
    MGS2 Ultimate Movie Cut: https://youtu.be/qOQ3H-klLpo
    MGS3 Ultimate Movie Cut: https://youtu.be/0NTw2lDg4-8
    MGS4 Ultimate Movie Cut: https://youtu.be/PGJbg2Cm1vI
    MGSV Ultimate Movie Cut: https://youtu.be/BGP75cceT5U

This project is a love letter to MGS series and is dedicated to Hideo Kojima's genius vision, and all ex and present Konami staff members involved. I hope all the old and new fans find this project helpful and entertaining. Thank you 📷

My Top Three Worst MGSV Missions

    Posted: 17 May 2021 01:09 PM PDT

I've finally 100% completed MGSV and it was an okay experience but out of all the frustration and struggles i had with this game these missions were the most annoying but not difficult:

Mission 9/34- Backup, Backdown: This mission was just pure annoyance at times trying to get across the map to take out all the vehicles. I found that mines were useless even when putting them in the clear tank tracks. The prisoner extraction was so weird for this mission and annoying when one of them gets shot. The lack of a checkpointing system was the most frustrating thing about this mission, like why not put a checkpoint after destorying the first three thanks when Miller is praising you? Nah lets just send them right back and break the tank routing.

Mission 21/47- The War Economy: By far one of the most buggest mission in the entire game, i spent like 4 hours trying to get the two fuckwits to do all 4 conversations and even then it wouldn't complete the mission task. Can't remove any enemies as it may fuck up the pathing of others such as the walker gears next to the south and north hangers, can't take D-dog cause he doesn't fuckin wait you tell him to and if the two fuckwits see him the skip the dialgoue and move on to the next area. Another mission with horrible checkpointing and lack of it that sends you right back outside the airport and making you waste more time hoping that the two fuckwits engage in all coversations. I wished that the chopper actually went over most of the base and didn't just skim the edges as it didn't pose any threat as you had to try to actually gain it's attention.

Mission 45- A Quiet Exit: This mission wasn't as bad as the other two but the only main reason I put it here was due to the lack of info that the mission wasn't a stealth mission and it being so out of place to me. I went into this game mostly blind so when I saw that the mission said go and get quiet I thought it was a stealth mission but no. The game chooses to give us a cutscene and then throw like ten tanks at us. Why? I had no preparation for destroying tanks as the last time i did it was in mission 9, so i had to waste time calling in crap as the rpg you get is crap. The combat was fine but it was just annoying as it just felt so misplaced compared to the other missions (except sahelanthropus, which was a fucking cool mission) I felt that snake was a bit of an idiot in this mission and acted like a bumbling fool who kept getting distracted. However i did think it was a nice ending to quiet's character and it actually had a checkpointing system!!!!

I dunno if these are controversial or not but i found that these mission lowered my enjoyment of a otherwise okay game.

How do you wake up sleeping guards in MGS2?

    Posted: 17 May 2021 01:24 PM PDT

In MGS5 you can kick an unconscious guard to wake him up, is there something like this in MGS2?

    Where to play MGS3?

    Posted: 17 May 2021 03:06 PM PDT

So I'm currently playing my way through this series for the first time and so far loving it. I played MGS on ePSXe and MGs2 (which I now count among my favorite games) on PCSX2 and it was ...meh. The game constantly stutered. So for this I'd like to avoid that. Where can I play MGS3 and get the best experience? (please keep in mind I don't own a console.

    Missing Narration in MGS1?

    Posted: 17 May 2021 11:21 AM PDT

I tried looking for info about this but only MGSV posts kept showing up. Anyway, I played the opening of MGS1 on my PS Vita, because I was bored, but for some reason there was a lot less dialogue in the intro than I remember

I know the intro has Campbell narrating, talking to Snake about the situation and goes through the list of bosses in the game. I know it's when he swims up to the dock and when he goes up the elevator. But when I played it just now, outside of the Codec calls, there wasn't any of the dialogue I remember from Campbell or Snake. Did I miss something?

This man is making a blind playthrough of every Metal Gear game

    Posted: 17 May 2021 05:12 AM PDT

Hey y'all, I wanted to shout out this guy, he got into this saga and quickly became a big fan of it. It is a small channel now but his passion and genuine reactions are deserving of attention. He is currently playing mgsv.

This video is from his mgs3 playthrough: https://youtu.be/5QyjPR_PHdg

IMPORTANT: If you go there remember to be cool with your comments. He has learned a lot since he started. Keep in mind that he knew basically nothing about these games.

Are we going to get another MGS Remaster Collection for the PS5 in 4k?

    Posted: 17 May 2021 05:35 AM PDT

I loved the hell out of the Legacy Collection for the PS3 and had tons of fun with it. I'd love to play all of them again (especially MGS2, MGS3 and MGS4 - we really need a MGS4 Remaster IMO) in 4k resolution. Are there any chances of another MGS Remaster Collection release for the PS5?

So when did Ocelot hypnotize himself to believe the Venom Lie?

    Posted: 17 May 2021 03:35 PM PDT

In "Doublethink" he mentioned to Big Boss that he will use hypnotherapy on himself to make him believe that Venom is the real Big Boss, and that he'll have to forget him. He clearly hasn't forgotten him when the hospital attacks and he gives him the passport and bike.

He also hadn't forgotten when he talked to Miller in the post credits (which is presumed to be after Venom saves Miller). So does Ocelot then run himself through hypnotherapy post-"Phantom Limbs"?

I really need help with the heating up the PAL key section in MGS 1

    Posted: 17 May 2021 09:31 AM PDT

I know how to heat up the key, and I wait for it to go red, but everytime I go back through the cold part where I fought the boss it instantly becomes yellow again. I've gone as fast as possible without stopping at all, and I've even waited for about 10 minutes in the hot area after the key has gone red in hopes that that may help but it hasn't. Is there anything I'm doing incorrectly that I need to know? or an alternate route that makes it easier or something?

"What if" question about the Cyprus Hospital Attack...

    Posted: 17 May 2021 01:17 PM PDT

Ok, this may be a weird question. After Venom Snake wake up, a certain cute female killer try to kill him, unsuccesfully. Well, this girl have a lot of fans. What if a fan of her, tried to prevent her from her assassination attempt (maybe by holding her at gunpoint), saved her and later showed her a video of the assassination attempt, where she is supposed to be set on fire? How would she react? Would she be grateful? How would influence the events of Phantom Pain and following games, beside the fact that Alexandra Pikremmos and Evangelos Constantinou would still live?

Quiet just did everything for me

    Posted: 17 May 2021 12:31 AM PDT

Was having a fuck it see what happens time with this particular prisoner extraction. Low effort, died a few times. Called in quiet and started getting serious. Managed to drop my launcher on a hut with no context climbing. Tried grenading it down. Apparently they just blow up. While I was trying to order another I hear the chopper going down and "base captured"

I'm not even sure if I took literally anyone out on that run myself. I just let her "distract" the guards while I gathered. And then it was done. Definitely not complaining. But damn she's finicky.

She picks off guards I'm trying to extract after being told multiple times to stand down. Knocks out guards I am capturing to interrogate after being told to stop. Snake just drops them instantly with what is almost a shrug of wtf. And she does it multiple times in a row. Like she's fuckin with you. Sometimes she'll let you die while she has the laser sighted, others she's picking them off as your run toward them one after another in a cinematic one two three of headshots.

If she'd just tell me where the enemies were that she was destroying I wouldn't need ddog. But I wouldn't have a game either I'd have a series of fetch quests

It'd be nice if she had a thank you button. Give an actual sense of a bond instead of a meter that says it
