A sketch of MGS5 Big Boss I made, nothing groundbreaking, but it felt share worthy. I might add on to it later.

    Which game is your favorite

    Posted: 14 Nov 2020 01:40 PM PST

I never got around to buying MGSV. Managed to pick it up for $5 when the game was on special. Definately had a blast finishing it. This game has to much hate for what it was.

Lets forget about anything I posted here and, I have a question. Out of all of the metal gear characters in the entire Metal Gear Series, which one was you're favorite character?

My Love & Hate Relationship with MGSV: The Phantom Pain

    Posted: 14 Nov 2020 02:39 PM PST

I have been playing MGSV:GZ and TPP (Mostly TPP) for 2 months now. I love the gameplay, story, characters, voice acting (even though Snake doesn't say much I enjoy Kiefer's voice), small callbacks, Paz side mission (my favorite) and always being on edge is pretty fun too (no reflex, no auto-aim). I even finished every side-ops in TPP. But there are things that I hate:

    • The Skulls: horrible, pace braking enemies
    • D-walker: 139 hours in, still can't control the damn thing (very minor problem)
    • Inconsistent difficulty between missions: Some missions are really easy, some are really fun, and some are so difficult that I takes me 3 or 4 restarts just the understand what the hell is going on (example: Back Up, Back Down).

The last one can be applied to the whole game. Game encourages you to think outside of the box, then punishes you for it. And when you stop playing it that way, It wants you to think outside of the box again. I am fine with soldiers wearing different outfits according to your actions, It's a nice challenge. But there is no way that I could do the "[Subsistence] Occupation Forces" mission without watching a Youtube video. That's the problem! I would try different ways to approach that missions if only it didn't force me to think "inside the box" one mission ago. It has come to a point where I'm scared to play the game because when I do, I put so much thought into it, just to see it fail in every major point. GZ was so much more consistent, but it's really short and I already finished it. Did this happen to any of you guys? Am I doing something wrong here? This is the only game that makes me obsessed, like a splinter in my brain. Can't stop playing it but can't enjoy it either. It gives me headache because of the difference of what it offers and what is delivers.

Finally finished my Metal Gear platinum collection with Rising. That game is amazing but absolutely hell to platinum. It was sufferingly hard, especially the VR missions and Armstrong.
