Was playing MGSV for the first time over the past week or so and took a screenshot of the Sahelanthropus fight that looks pretty wallpaper-esque.

Anyone still playing Peacewalker on PS3 (or psnow)?

    Posted: 14 Sep 2020 08:46 AM PDT

...anyone who still plays peacewalker, or wants to give it a try, feel free to add me in game. my psn nick is apier1on

for those of you who don't know, Peacewalker is the actual first part of the MGSV "walkman" trilogy, being followed by Ground Zeroes and TPP, and the last game to feature David Hayter voicing Snake. It's also multiplayer, with a lot of cooperative boss fights, and a mission system very similar (more like a first draft of) the system in TPP. But like, with a complete story (and an interesting one at that).

it's a neat game that definitely didn't get enough exposure due to its original release on the psp, but you can play it in the HD edition version on PS3 and PSNow (if you only have a PS4). It's also on xbox, but like, i can't imagine the xbox live peacewalker community is particularly large, heh.

    anyway, add me and snake-in!

Optional missions and Quiet [extreme], pretty good, after all.

    Posted: 14 Sep 2020 08:09 AM PDT

I am recently in chapter 2. I have been playing some of the "repeated" phases at the extreme and subsistence, and I was quite surprised by the way that each tactical approach to each mission changes dramatically in these modes. I tried to play in the phase when Quiet is the boss in the extreme and I died almost 10 times because of the speed with which she aims and shoots, it is surprising, only 1 shot kills. Speaking of which, does anyone know any tactics to defeat her [extreme]?

    Does MGS4 suck?

    Posted: 14 Sep 2020 04:15 PM PDT

I don't mean this as an attack on mgs4, more just trying to start an open ended discussion about it.

I want to love MGS4 so badly, because it has such amazing highs. The return to shadow moses was mostly tasteful and worked really well (mostly..), and damn that microwave hallway...

But like a lot of people I feel like this game completely falls apart during that cutscene, where we find out that the patriots are your teammates from mgs3.

But honestly? This game is so, so, so conflicting for me. I feel like everything in mgs4 is either amazing or terrible, never just "okay".

I would love to hear everyone's opinion on this game, because it seems the general consensus is that it's great, but not as good as the originals. But no matter how much I really do love what mgs4 does right I find myself skipping it when replaying the series.

Tell me what you think about MGS4!

    Also, nanomachines.

As a newcomer to the franchise, where should I start?

    Posted: 14 Sep 2020 04:11 PM PDT

The only actual "Metal Gear" game I've played is Metal Gear Rising(which ik is a spinoff). And Ive been thinking about getting into the franchise for a bit.

And I'm not sure what game I start with or what order I should play them in. Because I know story wise the games aren't in chronological order... so where should I start?
