Alright guys today marks the beginning of my journey down the rabbit hole that is Metal Gear Solid 2. re-recording my initial vid with an extra section on the novel, the Substance version of the game and a section on Raiden as a surrogate for the player.

I really love the game, but it’s so hard to play when you are constantly leaving

Anybody know where I can get an MSF T-shirt or sweatshirt?

    Posted: 26 Jun 2020 01:39 PM PDT

Anytime I google it or search on amazon I get stuff for Doctors Without Borders or just completely unrelated thing. Been thinking about getting something FOXHOUND but honestly MSF is my favorite period of Metal Gear history. Thanks in advance!

How are you supposed to play MGS2/MGS3?

    Posted: 26 Jun 2020 11:07 AM PDT

I've completed my first run on Easy, and I'm moving along. However, my first stealth games were Batman Begins and Batman: Arkham City, and I think I'm doing something wrong.

What I do is find everyone in the area, then knock them all out or kill them unless they're patrolling out of my way. It doesn't seem to be the way everyone plays the game - am I playing the game wrong?

Edit: I've been following the game for a while, and I usually play non-lethal - that Easy playthrough was completely non-lethal. Recently, however, I have discovered the joys of just snapping necks and hiding bodies.

I have read the menus, just about ate Peace Walker whole, and play MGSV a lot. However, I feel that MGS2 is a very different kind of game to those two, hence my question.

Is mgs po a game worth playing?

    Posted: 26 Jun 2020 12:11 PM PDT

Title. I've played all mgs games except portable ops. I don't know if it's worth playing, so I would like you to help me. If it is, if someone knows how or where to get it please let me know. I played pw on a psp emulator on my cellphone, I don't know if I can do the same with po. Thanks

I finally finished MGS4! I must say, compared to other Metal Gear games, this one gave me the hardest time, and I wasn't that good at the other games to begin with. But overall it was really fun.

I was inspired by the Colonel Campbell codec calls in MGS2, so I made a parody with Sonic the Hedgehog Characters

    Posted: 26 Jun 2020 09:41 AM PDT

How did I not realize Campbell was an AI??

    Posted: 26 Jun 2020 04:27 PM PDT

I'm playing MGS2 again and not sure if it's b/c of now playing with headphones, but Campbell is completely OFF from the start of the Plant. Maybe it's the greatest trick ever pulled on me. I think I was so focused on getting through the codecs to start the game that I didn't realize he sounded like Microsoft Sam

    Peace Walker Online On PSP

    Posted: 26 Jun 2020 08:40 AM PDT

    Hi,

tl;dr Anyone wana play Peace Walker co-op / vs online with me on the original PSP version?

I am doing my first playthrough of Peace Walker. I had the HD Edition PS3 remake but never played it past the first mission as I felt the controls were so limiting that I wanted to play it in its original context where the limits of the console (PSP) would match the limits of the game (if that makes any sense).

So eventually I got my wish and somebody swapped me their old PSP for a clarinet I never played and now I'm finally filling in this last gap in the Metal Gear Series. I've discovered that a lot of the game actually comes down to online features and co-op play. But of course there's nobody online in 2020.

Just putting this out there in case anyone feels like dusting off the ol' PSP and jumping back into it for a while.

    Cheers x

I love the MGS series but the whole Liquid possessing Ocelot thing was the dumbest plotline.

    Posted: 26 Jun 2020 03:39 PM PDT

Like in MGS2 how Ocelot's voice completely changed into a British accent when he got possessed was really silly. So silly that they backtracked in MGS4 and said Ocelot was just hypnotizing himself. I mean, what was the whole point in that?

MGSV - recommended weapons and items for loadouts?

    Posted: 26 Jun 2020 02:38 PM PDT

Apologies if this is already answered, you can redirect me to the said post (s) in the comments.

i have 2 different loadouts in mind -

    1. Stealth lethal / non lethal - this can be customised based on the situation. Sneaking suit or Ocelot unit camo. All weapons suppressed, items which encourage stealth playthrough. Lethal / non lethal weapons can be cycled based on missions and side ops.
    2. All out offensive - lethal ONLY. For this, Battle dress is compulsory. Stealth not at all required. This is for boss fights and side ops where I would like go in and out with a bang.
