Posted: 10 May 2020 03:14 PM PDT Random post but I could really use a distraction from my real life right about now. I've always felt more nostalgia toward 1 and 3. The former is simply iconic with the shadow moses setting and the way it laid the initial groundwork. Then there's 3... played it upon release and the day I beat it I just sat in silence. No video game has made me feel the way that one did. But when I replayed 2 and 3 last year, as soon as 2 started I just felt a wave of comfort. It was just like I was a kid again, without the puberty or "stress" from school. I also realized that Sons of Liberty had a much bigger impact on my personality, which makes sense because as a middle schooler I had to have played through it at least 20 times. For one, the downtempo music during the gameplay ended up having a major influence on my music taste. The design of Big Shell is so beautiful you forget it came out in 2001. I also think that playing as Raiden was a brilliant way to help develop the mystique of Solid Snake. The story wouldn't have been the same at all if you played as him. Speaking of which narrative itself taught me things about the US government that my parents never could. Even the end credits are oddly comforting. TL;DR MGS2 is flawless and played a major role in shaping my personality. [link] [comments] | ||
