Posted: 10 Feb 2020 07:21 AM PST I bought a ps3, mgs4, a cheap controller that broke within 10 minutes, and a display cable for under $100. I spent all of yesterday completing the game. 17 hours (yes with the broken controller) and I didn't sleep or take a break (besides to pee). I feel dead inside but it was well worth it. I got Hyena. Posted: 10 Feb 2020 10:00 AM PST The tone is so different, for one thing. It feels more like a survival-horror game than anything else, what with the XOF soldiers coldly and brutally executing everyone in the hospital, the sheer unstoppable paranormal power of the Third Child and the Man on Fire, and Snake's utter helplessness in the face of everything. It's completely at odds with the game at large, which feels very...playful and light by comparison, encouraging you to have fun messing around with Soviet soldiers and sneaking in cardboard boxes. The Third Child and the Man on Fire, despite featuring incredibly prominently in the opening, are barely in the game at all. The Man on Fire shows up to fight Snake exactly once, out of nowhere, and mostly disappears after that. When he does show up afterwards, it's to get stepped on by a mech, and that's that. Plus, there's all these Moby Dick references (Ahab, Ishmael, the flaming whale) that go nowhere. If anything, Venom Snake turns out to be one of the least revenge-driven of all the cast, especially in contrast to Miller. It doesn't feel like just cut content (though I'm sure there is some of that). It feels almost like the hospital opening was written and created for an entirely different story (perhaps Ishmael was supposed to be a hallucination?) in which the main character was actually driven by revenge and the Moby Dick references would have made a lot more sense, only to later be bolted onto the story we got. Thoughts? [link] [comments]

Posted: 10 Feb 2020 03:08 PM PST Would be awesome to get an MGS2 remake except entirely from Snake's perspective. Tanker mission, Big Shell infil, Pliskin, fight the Harrier from the helo, Arsenal infil, fight Fortune, swan dive off Arsenal, NYC exfil. Oh well [link] [comments]
Does big boss know about the clones? Posted: 10 Feb 2020 02:42 PM PST It's hard to grasp the games, the whole lore and storyline of all the games. But today, randomly, I had this question pop in my head. Does...big boss know about solid snake and liquid? I know he probably knew about venom. And how the hell did they even get big boss' DNA to make the twins? Did he consent to all this? Help, I'm lost. [link] [comments]
What do you think Big Boss does in mgs3 when he saves during boss battles? Posted: 10 Feb 2020 01:10 PM PST Supposedly according to para-medic he's sleeping, so what the hell goes on while he's "asleep" during a boss battle? And what if I leave for a week does he just go into deep hibernation? [link] [comments]
Just downloaded The Phantom Pain on my PS4. First experience with a Metal Gear game. What do I do? Posted: 10 Feb 2020 07:10 AM PST I'm enjoying the combat gameplay. But the rest of the game is kind of confusing. I have no reference point, as I have no prior knowledge of Metal Gear Solid. Where can I find an overview of what to do in this vast game? Metal Gear Solid V TPP PS3 Controller issue Posted: 10 Feb 2020 12:58 AM PST When the game came out I played 260 hours, but I still have 99% just some secondary objectives to go. The problem is that I want to rebuy the game and complete it again in PS4, but first I want to complete the 100%, the problem is that when I plug my PS4 controller into my PS3 and open Metal Gear Solid V TPP I can't use binoculars, since they're binded to R2 and the game somehow won't let me use R2. Any suggestion? (And before you ask my PS3 controller went insane and when I try to run it presses every single button randomly) [link] [comments]
I love the cassette tapes in MGSV Posted: 10 Feb 2020 07:25 AM PST Just an appreciation post. I hope more games does this cassette tapes like how mgsv did, giving context about what's happening ingame and connecting it to (more or less) real history. The content is also simple enough that you don't really need to focus to get what's happening too, so whenever I'm eating I always boot-up the game just to binge the tapes. [link] [comments] |
